00:00Probably 5,200, I would have thought. 3,200 of those steers and a couple thousand heifers.
00:05Absolute credit to all the vendors for presenting the stock that they have in the way that they have
00:10coming out of 2024. They are absolute class yarding and a lot of EU cattle here today.
00:17So no, credit goes to the vendors for the way they've lined them up there today.
00:21We probably knew we were in for a reasonable type of day, but at the end of the day you never know
00:26until the buyers line up on the rail, really, and they have today. On some of those little cattle,
00:31those 280 or below kilo calves, out to $4.70 thereabouts, and that's a big rise from even
00:38our Christmas one, really. Those sort of cattle before Christmas, not that there was a lot of them,
00:44sort of struggled to make their $4, so we saw a good price rise in those. A lot ahead of nought,
00:49which was where the buying strength was going to come from. There's some faces here that we
00:54wouldn't have seen occurrently for a long time, or maybe haven't seen them here on the rail, really,
00:59so just goes to show that strength in the north is definitely there and played a big part today.
