00:00We're here at Strathalbyn market today with Brett Peters from Elders Strathalbyn.
00:05Who have you got alongside you today? I've got Mitch McAnany from Nutrient,
00:08which had his run on the auctioneer in a game for the second time, and Ben Bowers from Elders
00:13at Strathalbyn, which he had his first go today, did a good job. The yarding today was about 650
00:19I reckon Ben? Yeah. And it was roughly split, roughly half half of the heifers. How did the
00:25steers go Mitch? Ah yeah, so we saw the steers today probably hit firm. The last sale, that's
00:31for the heaviest deers, and then there's lighter steers for probably 10 cents a deer. Heifers?
00:36Yeah, so the heifers were probably, the heavier heifers sort of 300 plus, probably fully firm to
00:41maybe 10 cents a deer on the back of a fortnight ago. Plenty of interest on the lighter heifers
00:46today being, you know, 20 cents deer, maybe 30 cents deer in places. Plenty of interstate interest
00:52there, which is really good to see. We had some local interest, EP, a bit north, a little bit
00:58southeast as well, but most of that interstate interest was just kicking the sale along nicely.
01:03And what are we expecting from the next sale Brett? The next sale is the 28th of March,
01:07get your bookings in. Hopefully we'll have a few numbers for that sale, a few more numbers in that
01:12sale, but if it stays dry I assume it will come forward, but also there'll be plenty opportunities
01:17I think with cattle running out, I think the market prices will stay fully firm to maybe
01:22get a little bit deerer for the next one.
