00:00on a Friday night in the heart of Texas, Dallas, the site of
00:04the Cotton Bowl, not the actual Cotton Bowl Stadium, but that
00:07being AT&T Stadium, Jerry World, of course, the home of the
00:11Cowboys for the in state team in Texas, taking on the national
00:15championship favorites entering the Final Four. That would be
00:19Ohio State the Buckeyes a five and a half point favorite
00:23against the Longhorns for Friday night in the Cotton Bowl. The
00:26total stands at 53 and a half and Joe to me the story of this
00:30game as we begin our breakdown is the market movement we have
00:34seen projected hypothetical numbers if Ohio State won the
00:38Rose Bowl in Texas outlasted Arizona State in the Peach
00:42Bowl. The Buckeyes will be an ever so slight favorite against
00:45the Longhorns a point and a half a couple of cents on the money
00:48line Ohio State overwhelmingly impressive against Oregon in
00:52the Rose Bowl, Texas struggled and escaped into overtimes
00:57against ASU as a two touchdown favorite. So the perceived
01:01notion maybe Texas not as good as we thought. And oh, this Ohio
01:06State team is the team we expected all year to win a
01:10national championship line open up for the Cotton Bowl at four
01:15and a half after those two results on New Year's Day, and
01:18then quickly got bet up to five and a hook. Joe, we love the
01:21FanDuel Sportsbook. It is the sponsor of this show. But in
01:24other spots, this line is even closer to a touchdown is the
01:29spread too large? Or does it feel fitting for Friday night
01:32the Cotton Bowl?
01:34I listen, I had said watching that Ohio State mauling of
01:40Oregon that no matter what, the value was going to be on Texas
01:46because recency bias was going to creep in. We were going to
01:49see Texas who had to go to overtime there to beat Arizona
01:53State and yet we watched Ohio State make the number one team
01:57in the country look like they didn't even belong in the same
02:00field. So we all knew Ohio State was going to get a ton of
02:04public love in this one. So is the value in Texas? Yes. Does
02:10that mean they're going to cover this number? Absolutely not. It
02:15has absolutely nothing to do with it. I do think the best
02:18team is Ohio State. I have a ticket on Ohio State to win
02:23everything here. And that includes them beating Texas
02:27here, Ben, I don't see Texas going toe to toe with how this
02:32Ohio State team is rolling right now. And the other problem I
02:36have to hear, yeah, or my only concern with Ohio State is that
02:42this team put so much energy and effort to get even with Oregon,
02:46that that was the game they wanted, Ben, that they looked
02:49past Michigan again, because they thought they were going to
02:51get it in the Big 10 championship. And then they fell
02:55flat there. And then they had to wait for the playoffs in order
02:59to exact that revenge. And they did. And they did in a big way.
03:03There is no history here between Texas and Ohio State, two very
03:08rich historic programs, but not against one another necessarily
03:12here. And my only fear is that maybe Ohio State left it all out
03:17for Oregon, which will show up early in this game. But I do
03:21think that defense and offensively, the best team
03:24remaining is Ohio State. And I do think they will eventually
03:29get it done here, not just in this game, but in the national
03:32championship game.
