Shimazu Yoshihiro was a military commander from the Sengoku period to the early Edo period in Japan, and the feudal lord of the Satsuma Domain (present-day Kagoshima Prefecture).

He was known as the "Demon Shimazu" for his skill in warfare, and was active in many battles.

He is particularly famous for his "breakthrough through enemy lines" (the so-called "Shimazu retreat") at the Battle of Sekigahara.

This heroic battle and strategy are often featured in Japanese historical documentaries, enhancing Shimazu Yoshihiro's reputation as a great general.
