Malaking bagay ang early detection pagdating sa heart disease. Para makatulong diyan isang AI powered software ang dinevelop ng ilang grade 11 student para mapabilis ang detection ng mga bara sa puso mula sa mga imahe ng CT-Scan.

00:00Early detection is a big deal when it comes to heart disease.
00:14To help with that, a software developed by some grade 11 students
00:19to speed up the detection of heart diseases
00:22from CT scan images.
00:25Come on, let's change the game!
00:31Here are the preparations.
00:34Not-so-good-for-the-heart foods.
00:37Heart disease is the leading cause of mortality in the country.
00:41The culprit is plaque build-up or blisters in the heart artery
00:45that can cause high in fat and cholesterol.
00:50To speed up and more accurately detect heart diseases,
00:54a software developed by grade 11 students
00:57from Quezon City Science High School
00:59is the Pre-Emptive Identification of Neu-Intimal Tissue
01:02in Imaging for Gleaning Atherosclerotic Plaques or PINTIG for short.
01:08The problem with our current landscape is that
01:11it can only be detected during its advanced stage.
01:14It is difficult to actually mitigate it.
01:17You have to go through series of invasive surgeries
01:20that may not just actually damage the structure of the patient
01:24but rather it also poses expensive cost.
01:27PINTIG is a software that allows you to highlight,
01:30detect, and classify if the patient has atherosclerosis plaque or blisters.
01:35It is an assistive tool for our medical professionals.
01:38PINTIG actually translates or examines each of the pixels of the images
01:44as small as 50 micrometer,
01:46something that is not visible to our naked eye.
01:49The group worked on programming and machine learning
01:52to build the software.
01:54It reached up to 98% accuracy.
01:5714,000 slices, data sets of the CT scan images.
02:03So it comes from about 200 patients.
02:07First of all, you need to register as a patient.
02:10Let's go to run image analysis.
02:12This is where we input the images that came from,
02:15heart images that came from the CT scan.
02:18This is an example of a healthy heart.
02:21Let's input it here, and within seconds,
02:24it will be able to make a diagnosis.
02:27Negative CAD plaque means that the heart is healthy,
02:30no blisters.
02:31Let's take an example where there is a slight complication in the heart.
02:34For example, this one.
02:36Within seconds, it will detect that the patient has positive blisters.
02:41The result will also be displayed in the patient results in the software.
02:45The team won the first prize in Robotic Intelligent Machines
02:49in the regional science and technology fair.
02:52They will also conduct clinical trials with the help of the Philippine Heart Center.
02:56As you can see, at such a young age,
02:59the innovation of grade 11 students is truly game-changing
03:03to help in the detection of heart disease.
