00:00Time is up. The clock has run out in all 11,000 foreign POGO overstaying their presence in the

00:05country. With our immigrant status now turned illegal, all are up for deportation whether

00:10they give themselves up or get caught in hiding. Luisa Erispe reports.

00:17Since 2024 has ended, the deadline for foreign POGO workers is also up. However, the Bureau of

00:24Immigration said there are about 11,000 foreign nationals who refuse to leave the country and

00:29have gone hiding or undercover. Though the BI wishes these foreign nationals to voluntarily

00:47surrender and be deported, most of them refuse to abide by the law. So a mass hunt operation

00:54is a food for each of these overstaying foreign workers. They have already coordinated with the

00:59National Bureau of Investigation and local government units to ensure each of them will

01:04be deported. We are also conducting manhunt operations to find them and to catch them,

01:12especially if they are conducting smaller operations here, which is what we fear.

01:19If their companies are hiding them, they may be charged, we can sue them for harboring illegal

01:28aliens. The local law enforcement units are our intelligence division's regional arms.

01:38The Department of Interior and local government, on the other hand, released an order empowering

01:43local officials to ensure no foreign national is hiding among their constituents

01:48and no illegal gambling operations exist in their jurisdictions.

01:53We have already informed all local governments that they are responsible for checking all the

01:58buildings, all the occupancy permits, all the electrical permits, all the fire safety permits

02:13Meanwhile, the Office of the Solicitor General is also in the process of cancelling birth

02:18certificates of thousands of foreign nationals who fraudulently acquired their citizenships. The

02:24OSG is also after their assets and properties which were illegally acquired during their stay

02:30in the Philippines. The office confirmed there are thousands of cases needing study and review.

02:35There are examples of OSG arising from the Quadcom hearings last year in both cancellation

02:45proceedings and pre-bill forfeiture proceedings. The OSG hopes for the help of Congress through

02:51legislation which will authorize the office to cancel birth certificates themselves. The OSG

02:57said this may be cheaper and will expedite due process on the thousands of cases ready for filing.
