00:00The Philippine Ports Authority estimates that 1.73 million passengers are expected to visit the Philippines this Holy Week.
00:12According to PPA Spokesperson Nunez Samonte, this is 3.5% higher than 1.67 million passengers last year.
00:23In addition, most passengers will visit Batangas, Mindoro, Panay, Guimaras, Negros Oriental, Siquijor, and Bohol.
00:32PPA will also distribute the 3,000 port police and force multipliers provided by the Philippine Coast Guard and the Philippine National Police to ensure the safety of the ports.
00:44PPA will also remind passengers to head to the ports.
00:49It is advisable for passengers to get their tickets as soon as possible before heading to the ports so that their journey will be smooth and they will not run out of tickets.
01:03Secondly, do not bring too many items because as I said earlier, our security is more tight.
01:10So all of their belongings will go through scanning and to our X-ray machines.
01:16So it is better if there are only a few travel lights.
01:19Third, of course, make sure to apologize and it is better if they head to the ports earlier before their journey.
01:28Meanwhile, Anna has been asking for a long leave from her company so that she can go on vacation in Zambales during Holy Week.
01:37She has already postponed her return to the province so that she can avoid the excess of passengers.
01:42I thought, actually I have someone with me, to leave before Holy Week because the excess of people is also a lot.
01:50So while there are not that many, we decided to make it a weekday before most of the trips.
01:58While the news team was on their way to the terminal of the bus in Cubao, Quezon City,
02:02it was noticed that the number of passengers is still small and not that crowded.
02:07But the trips to Baguio that are scheduled for Wednesday, April 16 and Thursday, April 17 are almost fully booked.
02:16But when it is fully booked, we automatically open a new time for booking for other passengers.
02:28The bus company also reminded the passengers.
02:31It is better if you book earlier because of course,
02:38so that you can choose the available time that you need.
02:42Not during the time that you are here, you will see the excess of passengers.
02:49It will be harder for you to book.
02:51That's why I hope that you can get a ticket so that when the day of your trip comes, it will be easier for you.
