00:00Hello and welcome to Manchester World and our first post-Christmas coffee catch-up.
00:04Very happy Christmas from everyone here at Manchester World, incidentally.
00:06We hope you've had a wonderful day and that the celebrations have managed to continue
00:10right up to today, the last day of 2024.
00:13So let's have a look at some of the major news from the last few days.
00:15Firstly, we're going to have to talk about weather.
00:18I'm afraid it can be a proper pain this time of year
00:20and I'm afraid it looks likely that 2025 is going to be off to a pretty bad start.
00:25The Met Office have issued a yellow weather warning with heavy
00:28and persistent snow expected across Greater Manchester.
00:30The conditions are set to start at 9 a.m.
00:32on January the 1st, leading right the way through into the morning of the 2nd.
00:36Also, Patrick Hollis has been cracking on over the Christmas time,
00:39producing some great pieces on travel and more.
00:41But the one we're just going to have a quick look at today is a reflection on Stockport's
00:44incredibly successful 2024. The area has had a massive year.
00:48It's got a new transport interchange and there were masses of celebrations
00:51that came with being named Manchester's Town of Culture.
00:54There's so much more in the article. It's a great piece and well worth a read.
00:57Keep a follow Manchester World, stay safe out there and Happy New Year.
