00:00The economic manager assured President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. that the 2025 national budget is focused on improving the lives of Filipinos.
00:10Joshua Garcia of PTV in Balitang Pambansang.
00:15At the same time, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. passed a 6 trillion Pesos national budget for the next year.
00:22This is more than P134 billion Pesos worth of projects.
00:26This is considered as an online item because it is not in line with the priorities of the government.
00:32The Department of Budget and Management also assessed it.
00:35In its press briefing, the DBM said that the education sector remains a top priority,
00:42followed by infrastructure and others.
00:451.053 trillion.
00:48Well, the DPWH is 1.034 trillion.
00:54So, education is a priority.
00:59DPWH Secretary Manuel Bonoana explained that they are considering other projects
01:05that do not support the socio-economic agenda of the current administration and need to be studied.
01:11There are a lot of local projects that are not ready for implementation and it will take us some time anyway
01:18to make sure that we can implement them immediately.
01:22So, these are the things that we saw that I think we can postpone it for the time being.
01:27According to the DBM, projects such as aid to the Kaposangkita Program or ACAP will remain.
01:33But before the funds are issued, the DSWD, DOLE, and NEDA will need to conduct monitoring
01:39for the continued implementation of these projects.
01:43Meanwhile, the Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamina also expressed his support
01:48for the following budget for 2025 under the provisions of the Constitution.
01:53I want to tell all of you that there will not be an unconstitutional budget.
02:03This is the interplay between the Congress and the Executive Branch.
02:09To make sure that the legal monitoring will be strictly followed,
02:1312 special provisions were included in the Conditional Implementation,
02:17including some important programs of the DSWD, such as ACAP and PAYAPAT Masagalang Pamanyanan or Pamanang Program.
02:24Meanwhile, the economic aim of the government in 2025 is good.
02:28According to the NEDA, the 2025 National Budget will focus on improving the lives of Filipinos
02:33and strengthening the sector of agriculture, renewable energy, and digitalization in the country.
02:39Our fourth quarter was also good.
02:44We are confident that we will hit our growth target.
02:50Our growth target is between 6 to 7 percent.
02:54So far, from quarter 1 to quarter 3, our growth rate is at 5.8 percent.
03:01So we think that we will hit that target.
03:06According to the Finance Department, it also ensures that every cent added to the budget for 2025
03:14will go to the right programs and projects for the country.
03:17From PTV Manila, Joshua Garcia for Balitang Pambansa.
