00:00Hi, my name is Calvin. I am 33 years old and I am a farmer.

00:16The innovation that I brought this time is the tangut briquette.

00:19Tangut is arang in the Kadazan-Dusun language and briquette is an English word or can be translated as a block of arang.

00:27In the palm oil field around here, we will find a lot of palm oil residues, especially palm oil seeds.

00:37And here, the idea was born to replace the palm oil residues to make arang.

00:45Usually, these palm oil seeds are just left as they are.

00:50And I thought of creating an innovation by replacing the palm oil residues to make arang.

00:58And this product has a lot of potential to be commercialized.

01:05One of the specialties of the tangut briquette is that it is easy to turn on, without smoke, long-lasting, and the main source is easy to get.

01:12It is very suitable for use in the indoor and outdoor areas.

01:19One of the uses that we can focus on later is the community of farmers, where they will use a lot of arang to produce their own food.

01:31We also have restaurants that use arang, and the arang that I created is suitable for use in the indoor area.

01:40For the process of preparing the tangut briquette, first, we will grind the palm oil residues in the field.

01:47After that, we will do the burning process, which takes about 5 to 6 hours.

01:54And after that, the arang will be produced from the palm oil residues.

01:59After that, the arang will be crushed and processed into tangut briquette arang.

02:09From the remaining palm oil residues in the palm oil field, in one hectare, it can produce as many as 3 tons of palm oil residues per month.

02:20So imagine, in Malaysia, we have almost 6 million hectares of palm oil planting areas,

02:28and of course, we can use the remaining palm oil residues to make a high-value product, which is tangut briquette.

02:37As an innovator, I hope that my innovation will attract the attention of various parties out there,

02:44that we have a lot of resources that can be commercialized.
