TD Querubin, 2 other weather systems to bring rains

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on Wednesday, Dec. 18 said Tropical Depression Querubin, the shear line, and the northeast monsoon (amihan) may bring moderate to heavy rainfall over parts of the country in the next 24 hours.  In its 5 a.m. bulletin, PAGASA said Querubin maintained its maximum winds of 45 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gusts reaching 55 kph while moving north-northeastward at 10 kph. 00:00Good morning to all. Here is our update on the Kiribbean storm.

00:07The Kiribbean storm is still in the sea near Mindanao.

00:13At present, the distance of the center of the Kiribbean storm is 230 km east of Davao City

00:21or 205 km east of Tagaon City, Davao del Norte.

00:27The strength of the wind near the center of the storm is still 45 km per hour

00:35while the wind speed is still 55 km per hour.

00:41We are still expecting that the storm will move in the direction of Hilagang-Hilagang-Silangan

00:47at a speed of 10 km per hour.

00:50You will notice that a large part of Visayas and Mindanao is experiencing a cloudy sky

00:57and there are heavy rains.

00:59That is the end of the storm and the extension of the storm and the shear line.

01:07So, we would like to remind our countrymen especially in Bicol Region, Bombay-Visayas and Mindanao

01:15that we should continue to be careful because there is still a chance of landslide or flash flood

01:21due to heavy rains and we are still expecting heavy rains.

01:31We are still under Tropica Second Windsignal No. 1, Davao-Oriental.

01:37So, expect heavy rains and strong winds.

01:44This is our estimate of the storm's movement and its strength.

01:52In the next 24 hours, we are expecting that the storm will weaken and become a low-pressure area.

02:02But we are expecting that it will become a storm again.

02:07It is apt to pass through Mindanao until it reaches the West Philippine Sea.

02:13So, we will continue to monitor the development of the storm now and in the coming days.
