00:00It was inaugurated at the Fiumicino airport the exhibition entitled Etruscans for Eternity,
00:10three suggestive sculptures belonging to the collections of the Etruscan National Museum
00:14of Villa Giulia, which will welcome at Terminal 1 the thousands of tourists from all over
00:19the world.
00:20A project made possible by the collaboration between the airports of Rome, General Direction
00:24Musei and Etruscan National Museum of Villa Giulia, whose purpose is to offer the public
00:29the charm of this ancient people, in addition to giving an opportunity to schedule a visit
00:34to the museum.
00:35As we say, it is a step in a path that has already started a while ago, that of bringing
00:40so much beauty, so much cultural and artistic richness that our territory, our country
00:45is able to express here at the airport.
00:47We bring it because there are so many travelers, even international, especially international
00:52who go to this airport, up to 180,000 people a day, in days more than peak, and we do it
00:58because we also want to take the opportunity to be a showcase of Italian beauty.
01:06The sculptures found in the arrival area of Terminal 1 are two cinerary urns in Travertino
01:11from Perugia and a sarcophagus lid found in Tuscany.
01:15Three works that catch attention thanks to the idealized portraits of men lived in the
01:20second century BC.
01:22All three characters are depicted disheveled while participating in a symposium, a reception
01:27in which they drank, talked and listened to music, a founding moment of the social life of the Etruscans.
01:57The airport of Rome has for a long time implemented a strategy aimed at the promotion and dissemination
02:07of the knowledge of cultural heritage, based on partnership with institutions, cultural
02:13and museums.
02:14A strategy that over time enriched Leonardo da Vinci with archaeological finds, works
02:18of art from different eras and contemporary installations, with the aim of rethinking
02:23the places of transit, promoting and valuing art and culture in all their decliniations.
02:28And this thanks also to the intervention of the Lazio region.
02:31In the arrival area, where tens of thousands of people pass every day, you can admire
02:38the beauties of the territory, you begin to have a taste of the journey in the history
02:43and in the beauty that our tourists strive to have.
02:47Doing it through the Etruscans was an important intuition, because it tells the beauties
02:53of our territory, not only of a Rome that is very famous.
02:56Through the call to the real and virtual dimension of the journey, the works exposed to the river
03:00therefore stimulate connections between the past and the future, the real world and fantasy, experiences
03:06and expectations.
03:07An unusual and proudly Italian way to welcome those who set foot in the eternal city.
