00:15they've been voted the best UK airport in the 2024 which annual survey.
00:20Loads going on at the airport at the minute.
00:22If you walk through now, it feels a bit like a building site, but it's all really good.
00:26So the new security hall with all the new x-rays are going in should be ready for January, February time.
00:32Loads of new shops and restaurants and bars coming, which is great.
00:35Just a real nice positive feeling.
00:37And yeah, the airport will look very different again in April, which is really nice to see.
00:42Lots of families from across the region are expected to head off on flights over the holiday period
00:47to a host of destinations for a mix of winter sun or winter sports,
00:51whilst many will be travelling to visit friends or relatives over the festive period.
00:55We've had a couple of tough years in the pandemic like everyone did,
00:58but now we're getting back to normal and beyond.
01:01Jet 2 arriving this summer have done really well.
01:04EasyJet and Ryanair still doing absolutely brilliant things here at Liverpool.
01:08So there's more and more places to travel to, which is great.
01:11And that's what we're here for.
01:12And people are really voting with their feet and coming through Liverpool Airport, which is excellent.
01:17As always at this time of year, the airport's management are keen to remind all passengers
01:21about restrictions on liquids carried in hand luggage are still in place
01:25and to think carefully about what items they're intending to pack in hand luggage
01:29before they set off for the airport.
01:31Well, Christmas is starting early in the airport, as it always does.
01:34And in the next couple of weeks, we'll see lots of people jetting off for Christmas breaks,
01:38weekends, going and seeing friends and family that they haven't seen.
01:40And it's a nice time of the year to be in the airport.
01:43To avoid disappointment at the security search point and to help keep security queues to a minimum,
01:49passengers are being asked to travel with their presents unwrapped if they are to be carried in hand luggage
01:54with items including Christmas crackers not permitted by most airlines.
