00:07Liverpool John Lennon Airport are expecting over 160,000 passengers to pass through the terminal over the festive period.

00:28Trains will run every day except Christmas Day with the Boxing Day service returning to support those attending events or heading out to indulge in some retail therapy.
00:36On Christmas Eve services will run throughout the day with the last trains departing around 8.30pm.
00:41On Boxing Day the service will run from approximately 9am to 6pm with trains calling at selected stations across the network.
00:48Additional services will be available between Liverpool and Aintree to support those attending the Boxing Day races.
00:53On New Year's Eve services will operate as usual with the last train departing around 8pm.
00:58On New Year's Day a 30 minute Sunday service will run across all lines.

01:21The special services funded by Mersey Travel will run on Christmas Day covering most hospital routes across Liverpool, Sefton, St Helens, Knowsley, Wirral and Halton.
01:30Running between approximately midday and 6pm Stagecoach will operate services on a number of key routes.
01:36Arriva has confirmed none of their services will run.
01:40Both Mersey tunnels will be toll free from 10pm Christmas Eve until 6am Boxing Day.
01:46There will be no commuter service running on the Mersey ferries between Christmas Eve and Thursday January 2nd.
01:53However, from Saturday 28th December through to New Year's Eve the River Explorer cruise will run.

02:05Many shops in Liverpool City Centre are extending their opening hours over at Liverpool 1.
02:10On Christmas Eve the shops are open from 9am to 5pm.
02:13Christmas Day they are closed however on Boxing Day they are open between 10am and 6pm.
02:18On New Years Eve between 10am and 5pm and New Years Day between 11am and 6pm.
02:23As we prepare for mounds of cardboard boxes from those presents and possibly a few more empty bottles than usual
02:30it's important to keep track of changes to bin collections in Liverpool.
02:34All bin collections will be moved back by between one and three days with changes taking place from Christmas Day.
02:39Stickers have already been placed on bins around the city to make people aware of these changes.
02:44Normal services will resume on Monday January 13th.
02:47Anyone with excess waste can take it to one of the city's household waste recycling centres.
