00:00It's business as usual at Liverpool John Lennon Airport after flights were suspended and cancelled due to a power failure.
00:08The outage lasted from around 10 to 2 until around 3.10pm on Monday afternoon.
00:14In a statement a spokesperson from the airport explained,
00:18unfortunately a power failure is impacting air traffic control and aircraft operations are temporarily suspended.
00:26Passengers or those meeting flights should contact their airline for the latest information.
00:32Some flights headed to Liverpool were diverted to Manchester Airport whilst others were cancelled.
00:38For those hoping to claim compensation though, unfortunately due to this being considered an extraordinary circumstance,
00:44passengers do not qualify for compensation.
00:48In an update issued just after 3.10pm, a spokesperson for the airport said,
00:52our engineers have resolved the earlier air traffic control power issue and aircraft operations have now resumed.
