00:005 wounded and 18 houses were burned in Barangay Tandang Sora in Quezon City.

00:10We have the first news, James Agustin.

00:18The residents of General Avenue in Barangay Tandang Sora, Quezon City,

00:24woke up to the blazing fire last 11 o'clock last night.

00:26The fire spread quickly to the nearby houses made of light materials.

00:31The first alarm was set on the Bureau of Fire Protection.

00:34Romy Sponde was in the 18th firetruck,

00:37as well as the fire volunteer groups.

00:39They were covered with thick, smoky clothes.

00:42They were forced to hang from the roof of several firetrucks

00:44so that water could flow near them.

00:46Residents who were affected ran to the front chapel.

00:50Some of them were not able to save anything,

00:52like Helen's family.

00:54We heard a scream,

00:56then I opened the window, and the fire was already big.

00:59It was right in front of our house,

01:01so I went down.

01:03We all went down.

01:04Michelle's family also experienced the same situation.

01:06They are very thankful that they were able to save their whole family.

01:09Our houses were made of light materials,

01:12so it was really fast.

01:14And it was empty,

01:16so almost all of the neighbors

01:18went inside.

01:21They just took a shortcut to the other houses.

01:23What's important is that our families are safe,

01:26because if there's a lot of equipment, it will help a lot.

01:29Five residents were injured.

01:31The first rescue team was immediately dispatched,

01:34including a 13-year-old woman

01:36who was injured in the knee while escaping.

01:39A man was bitten by a dog in Binti.

01:42Because the barangay residents

01:44were not able to go down to the 18th house that was burned,

01:46the total number of families affected was still unknown.

01:50We will first send modular tents.

01:52If ever there's no fire here,

01:54we can bring firewood to our barangay.

01:57Of course, we will also provide relief to them.

02:01The BFP also investigated the fire,

02:04including the total value of the firewood.

02:06What's involved here is a two-story residential informal settler.
