00:00Just last year, the Professional Regulation Commission, or PRC,
00:05released a list of newly registered nurses.
00:08This is another batch of frontliners in the country.
00:12You're right, there really is no need for the important role
00:16that nurses play in our country.
00:18They are the silent heroes who sacrifice every day
00:23for the well-being of their patients.
00:26That's why they are truly passionate,
00:29just like our youths who are continuously choosing this profession.
00:33That's why we got to know TAPNATURE in November.
00:38In November 2024, the Philippine Nursing Licensure Examination, or PNLE.
00:43But before that, let's take a look at this.
00:48The path to becoming a registered nurse is not easy.
00:53Education and training are needed.
00:57Nursing students need to pass the 4-year Bachelor's Degree Program,
01:02followed by a thorough review for the Philippine Nursing Licensure Examination.
01:07Passing the PNLE is a great success,
01:12a bonus if you are one of the TAPNATURE graduates.
01:15And based on the results of the November 2024 PNLE,
01:1929,349 were successful.
01:24The first place goes to Charimay Nunez-Canazares,
01:28who used the highest score of 92.6%
01:33among the 29,349 passers.
01:37Before this, Charimay finished as a magna cum laude
01:41at Cebu Normal University.
01:43So let's continue to learn the story behind Charimay's success
01:47here on Sunshine Stories.
01:52Live via Zoom, we have with us from Cebu,
01:56Charimay Nunez-Canazares, a registered nurse.
02:00Good morning and welcome to Rise and Shine Philippines.
02:03Prof Fito, together with Meiji. Good morning.
02:07Hello, good morning.
02:09First of all, congratulations to you, Charimay.
02:12What did you feel when you were the number one
02:17in the Philippine Nursing Licensure Examination?
02:20How did your family and friends react to this?
02:26First, when I found out that I ranked first in the PNLE,
02:30at that time, I could not really put into words
02:33how grateful and overjoyed I was.
02:35And at that time, it felt really surreal.
02:39And then my initial thought was that
02:41all the sacrifices and prayers had finally paid off.
02:45And when it comes to my family and friends,
02:48they were ecstatic and they were really proud.
02:50They're among the first to send me
02:52their heartfelt congratulations.
02:53And many of them were really overwhelmed
02:56with happiness and their unwavering support
02:59really did play a big part in my achievement,
03:03in the achievement that I have right now.
03:05And for me, this success is not just mine,
03:07but it belongs to my family and friends as well.
03:10That's so sweet.
03:11Once again, congratulations, Shari May.
03:14We want to know about your college journey at Cebu Normal University,
03:19A.A. State University.
03:20How was it being a nursing student?
03:25Studying at Cebu Normal University,
03:29being recognized as a Center of Excellence
03:31was an incredible blessing.
03:34SNU really goes beyond teaching technical skills
03:38and it instills values like compassion, dedication,
03:42and a commitment to excellence.
03:44And my journey as a nursing student was challenging,
03:47but immensely rewarding.
03:49And there were countless sleepless nights
03:53during my journey in nursing school,
03:56clinical duties, and exams,
03:57but every experience shaped me into who I am today.
04:01And I'm very thankful for that.
04:02And the university fostered a culture of excellence,
04:05pushing us to give our best in everything we do.
04:08And SNU really prepared me not just to pass the licensure examination,
04:14but to excel in the nursing profession
04:16and make a positive impact on other people's lives.
04:20Alright, Shari May.
04:22We want to know what was your strategy in reviewing for PNLE?
04:27Any study tips for the future examinations?
04:33Discipline and consistency were my keys to success during the review.
04:39I've mentioned in the previous interviews
04:42that I dedicated 8 to 12 hours daily.
04:45That's for 6 days a week to studying,
04:49but ensured that I prioritized, of course, self-care as well.
04:52Maintaining a balance was essential at that time.
04:55I took breaks, ate healthily, and exercised to keep my mind sharp,
04:59and also did leisure activities such as watching my favorite TV shows
05:04or playing my favorite video game.
05:08And then, at that time, I really did follow a well-structured study plan
05:13and focused on strengthening my weaker areas.
05:16And my advice to the future examinees who are listening right now is
05:21to really set a clear routine, remain consistent in their efforts,
05:25and never underestimate the importance of self-discipline,
05:29consistency, and prayer.
05:30And trust yourself, stay focused, and know that hard work really do pay off.
05:35Charimay is really amazing.
05:37I feel like she's going to achieve a lot.
05:39It's really inspiring to have self-care and balance.
05:43Charimay, please send a message to the people who are going through a difficult journey.
05:47Those are the people you want to thank.
05:52First and foremost, I would like to thank God first
05:55for His unwavering guidance, wisdom, and strength throughout my journey.
05:59And also my family who stood by me through every challenge and triumph.
06:03And to my friends who cheered me on and believed in me.
06:07I owe this success to all of them.
06:09And I also extend my gratitude, of course, to my alma mater,
06:13Cebu Normal University, for providing quality education
06:16and molding me into a competent and compassionate nurse.
06:19And lastly, I am deeply thankful to SLRC, my review center,
06:24for their excellent review program and support.
06:28And all of them played an essential role in the achievement.
06:31And I am forever grateful for them.
06:35And of course, I would like to include my patients during my clinical duties
06:43because they have also played a great part in this journey.
06:49Alright, thank you very much and good luck to you, Charimay.
