00:17In the leadership of the Department of Education, Secretary Sani Angara

00:21shared their accomplishments for 2024

00:25along with their plans for 2025.

00:30According to the Department of Education,

00:31hundreds of thousands are benefiting from their so-called Expanded Career Progression.

00:37President Ferdinand R. Marquez, Jr. also ordered a salary standardization

00:42where the annual salary of teachers increased by P40,000.

00:47Angara also highlighted their efforts to strengthen the Access to Education

00:52or what they call the Alternative Learning System

00:55for those who want to return to education.

00:57At present, the Department of Education is promoting the Public and Private Partnership

01:01for the construction of more than 100,000 classrooms across the country

01:06within the term of President Marquez, Jr.

01:09where the goal is to close the gap or backlog in the lack of schools.

01:16In this accomplishment, the Department of Education gave a full 20,000 SRIs

01:20for the first time to more than 900,000 teaching and non-teaching personnel.

01:26For the first time in the history of DepEd under President Marquez,

01:30we gave a full 20,000 SRIs to over 900,000 employees of DepEd,

01:35not only teachers but also non-teaching personnel.

01:38They are very happy.

01:39According to Angara, the IRR is promoting the revision of the Anti-Bullying Law

01:45to be more efficient in monitoring incidents of bullying

01:49so that more concrete policies will be implemented.

01:55The problem is that under the Licensure Act,

01:59a guidance counselor must have a master's degree.

02:02Since that law or requirement was passed,

02:05thousands of guidance counseling positions have been vacated.

02:10We have over 4,400 vacancies.

02:13The problem is that no one is getting guidance counseling in college.

02:16Under the leadership of President Marquez Jr. and his plans this year,

02:22the classroom gap will not only be solved,

02:25but digitalization will also be discussed.

02:27They will establish a foundation for students

02:31where the DepEd Computerization Program continues

02:36so that the Department of Education and Digitalization can work together,

02:39which is also one of President Marquez Jr.'s mandates.

02:42Angara also stated that even though the budget of DepEd has increased,

02:47they will continue to provide the needs of the country to the Department of Education.

02:52The President is doing this to all agencies.

02:55He knows that there are many projects that have increased in various agencies.

03:00For us, two items have increased.

03:03Or three actually rather.

03:05First is the DepEd Computerization.

03:08The number of projects increased is almost 10 billion.

03:11In the hiring of new teachers, there was an increase of over 1 billion.

03:15Then in the classroom construction,

03:17we know that our classroom deficit is huge.

03:20We are short of classrooms.

03:21We increased by over 1, about 1.5 billion.

03:25So the discussion is how this will be remedied.

03:29And we looked for a solution from our beloved President.

03:33Meanwhile, Angara also stated that the return of students to school

03:38will be resumed in June this year.
