00:00As a part of the steps to lower the price of rice in the country,
00:04the House-Kinta Committee or Murang Pagkain Super Committee
00:09has set a target for their next hearing, the top rice importer in the country.
00:13I.P. Overall Chair Joey Salceda,
00:16if the landed price of imported rice is to be lowered,
00:19it should be around Php 36 per kilo.
00:22So they are trying to figure out where the problem is
00:26so that it can be solved.
00:27Before the end of the year,
00:29they will also ask President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr.,
00:33for recommendations to lower the price of other foods.
00:37Salceda released the so-called statement
00:40following the new inflation report this November,
00:43which was included in the target but can still be improved.
00:46Next Tuesday, December 10,
00:48the second hearing of the House Super Panel will be held.
