00:00In addition to the eruption of Vulcan Canlaon, we got an update on the situation in La Castellana, Negros Occidental from Isabella MDR-RMO, Rhea Joy Opolensia.

00:19Ma'am, how are you and our countrymen?

00:25For now, here in Negros, especially in Isabella, our situation is good.

00:32The situation is normal.

00:34But yesterday, there was a mix of fear and anxiety when Vulcan Canlaon erupted.

00:41Ma'am, how many affected residents are there and can you describe your situation now?

00:48In La Castellana, there are around 87,000.

00:54Actually, there are 7,000 in La Castellana.

00:57But totally, in Negros, there are around 80,000 evacuees.

01:04Here in our 5th District and in the LGU areas, there are help from the national, province, and region.

01:17Then, there are private sectors that are also helping to get the needed supplies as well as our evacuees.

01:27For those who live in evacuation centers, what is their situation and how is their health?

01:35Of course, we know that in evacuation centers, it is not comfortable.

01:42But our government is there to help and provide their needs, especially food and medicines.

01:52Then, for their needs, especially their health, our RHU or Rural Health Unit is there to guide

02:02how to prevent and transmit the possible diseases that can be caused by the eruption of Vulcan Canlaon.

02:13Ma'am, can you confirm if 80,000 people are currently in evacuation centers?

02:20At the moment, 80,000 are in different LGUs from Bago, City, La Castellana, and Murcia.

02:31Within La Castellana, there are around 7,000.

02:3480,000 are in total.

02:37Do you have a message for our government?

02:42To our government, to President Marcos, thank you very much.

02:49The help is there.

02:54We feel that our fellow countrymen are all praying.

03:04The help from different sects, we feel it here in Negros.

03:11I hope we will be able to overcome this or we will conquer these challenges.
