An office building home to multiple legal firms on the New South Wales Central Coast has been forced to evacuate after several explosions were heard and a fire broke out. Locals have described a chaotic scene and fears for their safety.

00:00Dozens of staff stream out of this legal aid office in Gosford.
00:07Moments earlier, police say a man entered the building, allegedly lit a fire and fled the scene.
00:13Yeah it was nuts, like it was just, there was cop cars and fire trucks lined up and down all the streets.
00:20A short time later, several explosions rang out at these legal offices down the road.
00:26Witnesses reported seeing someone throw an incendiary device inside.
00:30You wouldn't think that this is your average Thursday in Gosford, that's for sure.
00:35It's definitely crazy, not something that you'd expect.
00:39But also it's sort of, I guess it comes with the territory of courthouses and lawyers and all the rest of it in the area.
00:48A police operation was also underway at the nearby Gosford Uniting Church.
00:53A 54-year-old man was treated by paramedics for smoke inhalation.
00:57No other injuries were reported from any of the incidents.
01:00Living in the next suburb, it is very, very scary considering my kids grow up here too.
01:06Detectives are searching for a man who was seen in the area at the time of the explosions.
01:11He's believed to be in his 60s, described as being of short and chubby build.
