00:00Education Secretary Sani Angara is now pushing for many public-private partnerships
00:06to speed up the construction of classrooms for public schools across the country.
00:12Secretary Angara explained that this will help with the classroom backlogs that are now being experienced by DepEd.
00:18This means that DepEd will have 1,000 school buildings built and the construction will be allocated to the private sector.
00:27The Secretary also explained that income tax will be reduced for private companies that want to donate school buildings.
00:34The Secretary first said that DepEd and the Department of Public Works and Highways will help
00:41with the faster construction of schools across the country.
00:45According to DepEd, there are still 159,000 classrooms that need to be built.
