00:00The maximum suggested retail price for pork in Metro Manila is now effective from today.

00:16The vegetables grown by the owner of the grocery store, Myra, are cheaper.

00:19She says vegetables are cheaper than meat.

00:31following the implementation of the maximum suggested retail price in Metro Manila from today.

00:42According to the Department of Agriculture, the maximum suggested retail price for pork is now effective.

00:47MSRP is P350 per kilo for pork shoulder or kasim

00:51while it's P380 for pork belly or liempo.

00:54It's now effective from today.

00:57According to the pork seller in Mega Q Mart,

00:59the price of pork they buy is now going down by P10 to P20.

01:04Before, the price of pork liempo and pork belly was higher.

01:10Now, it's P10 lower.

01:12What we get from them is a whole pig's head.

01:16Our pig's head is P305.

01:18It's only now that it's P305 lower.

01:21Before, it was P320 or P325.

01:24Even though the price of pork's head is now going down,

01:26the maximum suggested retail price for pork is now effective.

01:33According to the Department of Agriculture,

01:35they will conduct a periodic review

01:37a month after the implementation of pork MSRP.

01:40The DA, DTI, and PNP will also be involved

01:43to ensure that the markets will follow the correct price of pork.

01:46Even though pork MSRP is only implemented in Metro Manila,

01:50the DA is also studying the cost structure in other regions

01:53so that pork MSRP will also be implemented.

01:56Meanwhile, the Agricultural Group of Sinag

01:59has already put MSRP on vegetables,

02:01especially onions,

02:03because the price of onions is now low

02:05after two weeks.

02:07Right now, the farm gate is down.

02:11White is at P25 to P30 per kilo.

02:15Red is between P60 to P70.

02:19So if it's still like that,

02:21we're suggesting MSRP

02:24so that the consumers will benefit from the cheap farm gate.

02:28If it's P30 per kilo for white,

02:30then even if it's P70 or P80 for MSRP,

02:34the price of red should not exceed P100.

02:37Sinag is now consulting with the DA for this.
