00:00Just following on from the budget and planning stuff, is there one area you think Preston can target to try and gain an advantage on teams with more money?
00:09Or is it a mix of a few?
00:11Everything, yeah. Environment and our culture and how we want to work on the demands we put on each other.
00:16And working better and smarter. Recruitment's big. Recruitment's huge.
00:22My role in that is identifying, these are the roles, these are the player specifics that we need.
00:27And then we go out and try and find them.
00:30I'd be really disappointed if I wasn't getting presented names that I knew.
00:36Otherwise I may as well do it all.
00:38I want us to think outside the box.
00:41I want us to be really thorough and detailed in how we go about looking for these players.
00:49Don't be scared to put your name to someone if you think you can see them in a white shirt.
00:54Then ultimately we'll make that decision here.
00:57Because that's it.
01:00Back to the point previous, if we want to be...
01:03I know one way we can increase the money we can spend is by player trading.
01:10Bringing players in, getting all the good talent before anyone else can is important.
01:15Getting them in our team and then moving them on for big profit is a way to put money straight back in.
01:20That's all part of the process.
01:24Because they've looked to Scandinavia in recent years but there's a whole big wide world out there.
01:28You see players coming from Japan and all sorts.
01:30You've got to be looking everywhere.
01:32The work permit thing changed a lot.
01:35You're allowed so many outsides who don't qualify automatically through points and things.
01:42Brexit made it a lot more difficult, that sort of process.
01:47You've just got to keep trying and look at every avenue.
01:53I think you need real clarity on the type of player you want first.
01:57That helps narrow things down.
