00:00Good afternoon to all of us. Here is the weather update for Wednesday, November 28, 2024.
00:08As we can see, there is still no storm or low-pressure area inside and outside of our Philippine Area of Responsibility.
00:17But as we can see, our PIR is full of clouds.
00:21It is surrounded by two weather systems that we call shear lines.
00:25This is the hot wind, which is our easterlies.
00:29And the cold wind, which is the northeast monsoon.
00:32This will bring a heavy downpour with scattered rain when it comes to the eastern section of our Luzon.
00:41And then this shear line, we can also see that its axis will also go down
00:46because we will have a surge of northeast monsoon and a large part of Luzon will experience this northeast monsoon.
00:54Because of this surge, the axis of this shear line will go down
00:58and it is also possible that it will bring downpours here in the eastern section of Central Luzon and Southern Luzon.
01:05Our second weather system is the Intertropical Convergence Zone or ITCZ.
01:10As we can see, it is full of clouds here in Mindanao and some parts of Visayas are also affected.
01:19We can also see that the ITCZ will shift its axis northward
01:24so it is possible that the eastern Visayas will also experience heavy downpours.
01:30As we can see, we released a weather advisory earlier at 5 p.m.
01:35This is the end of the Intertropical Convergence Zone.
01:38For now, until tomorrow afternoon, we expect moderate to heavy downpours here in the eastern summer,
01:45southern Leyte, Dinagat Islands, Surigao del Norte, and Surigao del Sur.
01:50As we can see, flash floods and landslides are possible.
01:56For tomorrow afternoon, until Saturday afternoon,
01:59we expect heavy to intense downpours here in Camarinas Sur and Albay.
02:07Also, a large portion of the eastern section of Luzon,
02:10including the eastern Visayas and Dinagat Islands, which is Mindanao,
02:16will also experience heavy downpours.
02:18This is the end of the shearline and the Intertropical Convergence Zone.
02:23As we can see, we expect flash floods and landslides.
02:30From Saturday afternoon to Sunday afternoon,
02:33in Camarinas Sur, Albay, and Catanduanes,
02:36they will also experience heavy to intense or 100 to 200 mm of rain.
02:43Moderate to heavy downpours here in Sorso Gold, Northern Samar, Eastern Samar, Camarinas Norte, and Quezon.
