00:00I was trying to take a break from fostering, but somebody told me about Sky, and of course
00:09she reminded me so much of my own deaf-dover, Jasmine, that I just didn't feel good about
00:15letting her sit in that shelter, so I brought her to the farm.
00:20My biggest problem right now is that Jasmine can exhibit very reactive behavior toward
00:25dogs that she doesn't know.
00:28So for now, Sky is living all by herself in the barn that I restored.
00:32Sky does pretty well with dogs.
00:34Hi, good morning!
00:35Most mornings I bring Joey with me, we get her to start her day.
00:38Are you waiting for us?
00:40We go hiking on local trails.
00:43She absolutely loves the pond.
00:45She loves watching the frogs and trying to catch the frogs and getting as muddy as possible.
00:52Then I give her her breakfast.
00:56Hey mama, I'll be right back.
01:02I'm sorry Sky, I wish we could bring you home with us.
01:06We'll be back mama.

01:14It's hard for me to leave her.
01:19Because Sky is deaf, she often doesn't even notice that I've come back into the barn.
01:24My mom is very pissy about it Sky.
01:27And I find her sleeping in the weirdest positions.
01:32And places.
01:40Hi, what are you doing in there?
01:44Without fail, every time I wake her up, she is so excited to see me.
01:49Hi sweet girl.
01:51Hi, oh my goodness, you're so excited.
01:54We're so excited.
01:56One of the enrichment activities that we work on every day is her sign language cues.
02:09When I have to run errands, I usually take her with me because this is a dog who absolutely loves to meet new people.
02:18On the days we don't get out, she spends some quality time hanging out with Joey.
02:23In the evening, Sky turns into a cuddle buddy and that's how we spend our time in the barn at night.
02:29And then I go back to the farmhouse to my three dogs and spend the rest of my night there.
02:35And I feel like I live this double life where I have this secret family on one side of the farm that the other family doesn't really know much about.
02:43And it's hard.
02:45I would love to keep Sky because she's that incredible, but I can't.
02:49I already have three dogs. I don't have the capacity to add Sky to my care pie.
02:54So I'm looking for the right home for this wonderful dog and she is going to change their lives.
