00:04 Iris! Hi girl!
00:08 Whatcha doing?
00:12 She would just kind of like sit in this back
00:16 corner behind a planter. Iris, come inside babe, come on!
00:20 Come on! Come on!
00:24 [music]
00:28 She would like come in and she'd like
00:32 poke her head in and then she'd leave. And she'd do that 15 times.
00:36 [music]
00:40 [music]
00:44 Hi!
00:48 Whatcha doing?
00:52 [music]
00:56 [music]
01:00 It's okay Iris, we're going to the house.

01:12 [music]
01:16 Good girl! Iris, it's okay.
01:20 [music]
01:24 I didn't want to lay on anything so I started covering our basement floor
01:28 with blankets.
01:32 So she would start to learn like I can lay on these
01:36 and I would hide treats in there.
01:40 So then the basement floor became another spot that she really liked.
01:44 When we fed her, I would have to bring her food to wherever she was.

01:56 [music]
02:00 Good girl!
02:04 [music]
02:08 And then from there I kind of like
02:12 hugged her, pet her more often.
02:16 She would look at me like I don't know
02:20 what you're doing but I like it. I started just kind of like picking her up
02:24 and putting her next to me on the couch.
02:28 So eventually she started
02:32 getting up on her own.
02:36 Good girl!
02:40 [music]
02:44 Hi girl!
02:48 You're both boring. I know that.
02:52 Iris was just sitting there behind a tree and then Max was kind of looking at me
02:56 like can I go see her or should I wait?
03:00 And so for the first couple weeks of introducing them, Max just kind of
03:04 sat there and they just sat with like a distance between them and just sat
03:08 and did absolutely nothing. And then eventually they kind of
03:12 started engaging more. She just started progressing so quickly.
03:16 It was really, really sweet.
03:20 Out of like nowhere, she just started like doing these
03:24 like play bows and barking and I was just
03:28 sitting there like oh my gosh, who is this dog? She was
03:32 frolicking around our yard, pouncing around like this like baby elephant.
03:36 Do you want this ball?
03:40 You do?
03:44 Okay, ready? Go!
03:48 Good girl! It took about three weeks
03:52 after the play bows to be able to get her to walk on a leash.
03:56 Go Max. Max, come.
04:00 Good girl, Iris! Okay!
04:04 Very good!
04:08 We really wanted Iris to
04:12 be with a dog that would pull her out of her shell.
04:16 The first night, she jumped into it right away so she never even thought about it.
04:36 Anywhere Cleo is, she wants to be.
04:40 If Cleo's on the couch, she wants to be next to Cleo.
04:44 Cleo's definitely teaching her how to be a dog.
04:48 We're super lucky to have her. I mean, we love her.
04:52 We love her.
