00:00We were just in the street and a firetruck went past.
00:03I don't think we would have even noticed him doing it if we didn't look at him
00:06because he was wooing but there was no sound.
00:09The next time we saw a firetruck, same thing happened.
00:12We were grabbing each other's arms like,
00:14oh my god, look how cute he is!
00:19So he just found the voice and then he just got more and more vocal
00:25in very cute ways.
00:27He wouldn't do anything before he had his breakfast.
00:29He wouldn't go out and pee.
00:30He was like, no, I have to have my breakfast now.
00:34So the toe taps went hand in hand with the breakfast woos.
00:37So if he did the toe tap, then he did the woo.
00:39They came together.
00:42Oh my god, stop.
00:44So cute.
00:46Jessica from I Stand With My Pack,
00:49she reached out to me about this old boy in the shelter.
00:54The rescue thought he could be a pospis foster.
00:56His back legs didn't really work very well.
00:58We weren't sure how sort of fragile he was going to be.
01:03Our initial reactions about Larry were that he was just the sweetest
01:08and he just had this attitude of like, hey, it's all good.
01:11He just looks like he's really having a hard time standing up,
01:14but it was kind of crazy how quickly he changed.
01:19We were really surprised by how sparky he was after a couple of days.
01:25He just had this attitude of like, hey, I can do it.
01:30You could just see he was loving life.
01:32He was very much there.
01:34My goal is to find them an even better home than I could give them.
01:38We could all see that he was probably adoptable,
01:40so we wanted to showcase that he just isn't fazed by anything.
01:46What surprised you about him?
01:49Just how quickly we fell in love with him, I suppose.
01:52We had many, many conversations.
01:53Shall we keep him?
01:55Shall we keep him?
01:56He really got to our hearts for sure.
02:05It felt like he was aging backwards.
02:08But you know, it had been months of no interest.
02:12As charming and sweet as he is, he's a senior and he's a cropped hippo.
02:18And then I got a text from Tara and she said,
02:20OK, me and my husband, we talked about it.
02:23We want to adopt Larry.
02:24My heart exploded because to me, this is the dream for Larry.
02:28Did you bring my Christmas present?
02:30I wasn't looking to adopt.
02:32We had seven dogs.
02:34I almost feel like I'm on like dog Tinder.
02:37You brought my Christmas present!
02:38You're like, swipe.
02:39Was it swipe left or right?
02:42Oh, my gosh!
02:50He's such a good boy.
02:50He's a cute boy.
02:52He's my creepy secret.
02:54That's where the party started.
02:59It was so hilarious.
03:00These dogs were just like ready to go.
03:06Opening Christmas presents, eating cake.
03:08Oh, sure, sure.
03:11It was the cutest thing ever.
03:14So then we just had a dog party for the rest of the night.
03:19We drove the four hours back to Arizona
03:22and at that point, it was Christmas Eve.
03:25He immediately just fit right in.
03:27The dogs opened a bunch of gifts.
03:31We went to the fire station.
03:34And Larry got a ride in the fire truck.
03:37He looked like he was on the job.
03:39Like, finally, they picked me up for my shift.
03:44Oh, my God, I love him so much.
03:45He really looks so much like my dog.
03:47He does.
03:48They have the same facial essence or something.
03:50Yeah.
03:51When talking to people about seniors,
03:52it seems that they're really focused on the heartache
03:55that you're guaranteed to have.
03:57They miss out on what's in between.
04:02He freaking loves everything.
04:04He loves to go anywhere.
04:06There's only been a couple of dogs over the years
04:08that when you take them out into public,
04:10that they actually do cause a scene just by existing.
04:13People come running.
04:15They have ramblings.
04:17They have grandpa swag.
04:19And he's definitely got it.
