Yves has dedicated his life to fostering pitties. And he just welcomed his 40th foster pittie into his pittie palace! Watch their dances they do together every time he has a successful walk. We are celebrating Pittie Awareness Month by highlighting some our favorite pitties and their parents!

00:00This is Banjo. Banjo is part gator, part pig.
00:04I'm really excited to be his dad and I'm excited to have this silly boy.
00:07Whenever I go and foster, I always ask for the dog that's been there for longest or is suffering.
00:13And so Banjo was that guy.
00:16Today I am picking up my 40th foster.
00:19It might sound a little dramatic, but I like to get the apartment ready.
00:22I want them to know that the space is also theirs.
00:25We got bowls, baby.
00:27That bed is made.
00:28Ready for some petty cuddles.
00:30On my way to pick up our boy Banjo.
00:32And the moment he walked out of the door, he just peed like nonstop.
00:37And I was like, yeah, this is the one.
00:40Hey, buddy.
00:40Banjo was just ready to be held, to be touched, to just rest his head finally.
00:45So now we got toys, goodies.
00:48I'm gonna go over house rules.
00:50I have this bully ritual as they enter the pit bull palace, which is my small New York apartment.
00:56I like to give them a coconut oil shampoo bath.
01:02Good job.
01:05I also like to watch 101 Dalmatians.
01:09Banjo's comfortability with me was pretty immediate.
01:12Hey, who's my gator?
01:14Hey, gator.
01:15But we had a lot of anxiety.
01:17It's okay, buddy.
01:18I promise.
01:19Come on, come on.
01:21It was hard for him to go on walks.
01:23At first, he was terrified of the stairs.
01:26So I've been telling Banji baby over here that there's treats upstairs.
01:31I'm gonna try to use that method today to get him up the stairs.
01:34It was a lot of me stopping in my tracks wherever we were to talk to him and talking through it.
01:41We're gonna get some treats upstairs, okay?
01:43Treats, all right?
01:45You got this, buddy.
01:46Come on.
01:47I believe in you, buddy.
01:48You're doing it, buddy.
01:51Yes, bud.
01:52Buddy, come here.
01:53Come here.
01:54Just seeing that shell break in real time is so emotional.
01:58This Banjo, our baby boy, our lamb manatee, has conquered the stairs.
02:04When Banjo and I had our very first successful walk,
02:08I did this little tippy-tappy, and he sort of mimicked me.
02:13Good walk.
02:14That walk was good.
02:17That walk was good.
02:18It just brought me so much joy to see him so joyful.
02:22And from that moment forward, whenever we had a good walk, I would always do the dance.
02:32The last few months or so of us together, he was now in the driver's seat.
02:36I was in the passenger seat letting him drive,
02:38and it was an absolute blessing being a passenger in Banjo's car.
02:42Oh, look at him.
02:44Oh, buddy.
02:47It's such a weird thing you have to do.
02:49You develop this relationship and this bond, and they become a part of your life.
02:54And then, out of nowhere, a day comes along where
02:57someone else sees exactly what you see, and you have to let them go.
03:03Good morning.
03:04It is Banjo's adoption day.
03:06It's one of those things where you kind of feel like you're always ready for it,
03:09but you're never ready for it when it's ready for you.
03:13Let's get you ready, huh?
03:15I got all this stuff together.
03:18I prepped for baby gator Banjo before he left me to let him know that he's good
03:24and to make sure that his new family has stuff that he likes.
03:28Crying like a baby, and he's lying down like a baby.
03:32Sounds about right.
03:36Banjo reacted lovingly to his forever family.
03:39It was emotional for me to see because it was seeing this new Banjo.
03:43I feel like that Banjo was always there.
03:46He was just trapped.
03:47There he goes.
03:48I'm so proud of him.
03:50I knew from the moment they met that he was going to live with them forever.
03:55I couldn't have asked for a better situation for my little piglet, Mr. Banjo.
04:01Banjo has two fur siblings.
04:03It's just amazing to see that Banjo not only has human family, but animal family as well.
04:09This is the forever that me and Banjo prayed about over our dog treats.
04:17Banjo, Banjo, Banjo, Banjo, Banjo, Banjo, Banjo, Banjo, Banjo, Banjo, Banjo, Banjo, Banjo, Banjo, Banjo, Banjo, Banjo, Banjo, Banjo, Banjo, Banjo, Banjo, Banjo, Banjo, Banjo, Banjo, Banjo, Banjo, Banjo, Banjo, Banjo, Banjo, Banjo, Banjo, Banjo, Banjo, Banjo, Banjo, Banjo, Banjo, Banjo, Banjo, Banjo, Banjo, Banjo, Banjo, Banjo, Banjo, Banjo, Banjo, Banjo, Banjo, Banjo, Banjo, Banjo, Banjo, Banjo, Banjo, Banjo, Banjo, Banjo, Banjo, Banjo, Banjo, Banjo, Banjo, Banjo, Banjo, Banjo, Banjo, Banjo, Banjo, Banjo, Banjo
