00:00Good morning everybody, I'm here down at the Post Office in Bexhill as part of our campaign
00:06to make sure that we keep this Post Office open. And actually, one of the biggest groups
00:10of people who have told me how concerned they are is local businesses in the town centre.
00:14They've told me how important the functions are in the local Post Office. We've got Howard
00:17here from the Chamber, I'm sure you've heard the same from your members Howard.
00:20Absolutely, and the irony is of course with the shift over to online sales, a lot of businesses
00:26who are trying to get into the online market are absolutely dependent on the Post Office
00:32for the delivery and returns of parcels. So it's not just the lack of banking facilities
00:37and the cash facilities at the Post Office. Post Offices and parcel services particularly
00:42have become the lifeblood of businesses that are just trying to compete in the online market
00:47and to lose this counter service will be a tragedy for businesses in Bexhill.
00:51So I just encourage people to sign the petition and actually we'll be here at 9 o'clock on Saturday 30th
00:56collecting signatures in person, so all the support would be welcome.
01:00Great, and we'll be here too, supporting businesses in Bexhill.
