00:00The Department of Health and local governments are now addressing the need for sexual and reproductive health of women and pregnant women.

00:08The details are reported by Alec Reyes of the Philippine Information Agency, Eastern Visayas.

00:15The Department of Health has strengthened and strengthened the services and facilities for the need for sexual and reproductive health,

00:24especially for women and pregnant women during times of calamity.

00:29According to Hermart Severino, Program Manager of Family Planning and Adolescent Health of the DOH Region 8,

00:35the local health workers are focused on their well-being and are determined to be ready to provide the minimum initial service package

00:43for sexual and reproductive health to address the sexual and reproductive needs of the affected population.

00:53During the emergency times, our normal services will not be lost.

00:57So that is why our foundations should be complete and we have a good foundation that during emergency, it will not be lost.

01:07One of the initiatives of the DOH is the Women's Health on Wheels that is used whenever there is a typhoon

01:13to address the needs of women, especially pregnant women, during times of typhoon or calamity.

01:21Family planning commodities are also included in the services provided to LGUs.

01:28We ensure that the Department of Health, together with its partner, the Regional Implementation Team,

01:33ensures that our service delivery networks are established wherein we can refer all the services,

01:43especially for maternal health, adolescent health, and family planning,

01:48so that our services will not be stopped during emergencies.

01:52The needs of LGUs are not limited to the time of emergency, but they are increasing.

01:59This has an important role in preventing the spread of diseases,

02:03reducing maternal and infant mortality, and spreading sexual infections.
