00:00My dog suddenly became paralyzed and within an hour my life completely flipped.
00:08I was taking him to the dog park, unleashed his leash, and when he sprinted off he slipped on something.
00:15All of a sudden he could not get up. He's paralyzed from the waist down, like, in a matter of seconds.
00:22We rushed him to an ER and when the vets told me he may not be able to ever walk again, I was completely crushed.
00:31It was my birthday the day he came home. The vet told me that he may not be able to figure out that he's going to the bathroom.
00:40So I kept him in the shower, put down a little bed for him, and I could not bear leaving him in there alone.
00:47So I set up a bed right outside for myself.
00:51This was incredibly hard to deal with, but he started wagging his tail and I realized that he's going to be just fine.
00:58He is in good spirits. Watch this. Touch. Yes! Good job!
01:04About a week after he came home, I was able to get him straight into a physical therapy place.
01:12They basically did a lot of balancing exercises. And then, of course, the infamous underwater treadmill.

01:23The most important thing for Cooper was to remain active.
01:27As hard as that was for me, like, emotionally, I don't want him to hurt himself ever again.
01:33I took him out on walks three, four times a day.

01:41I was supplementing some of that weight for him because he can't put his paw down and hold it himself.
01:46Every day that passed, he just got a little bit better.
01:50I swear, Cooper just made the most progress he's ever made.
01:54I think he literally just took an entire step with his back left leg.

02:56He's just swimming like nothing ever happened to him.

03:13And to me, that is just the ultimate sign of love.
