Woman was struggling with depression and nothing seemed to help until she met a dog who was going through something very similar. We spoke with Taylor, who shared with us how this one dog changed her life forever, so now she was determined to change hers too!

00:12I had COVID in 2020,

00:16treatment-resistant depression
00:18and anxiety.
00:20Nothing was working, so
00:22one day I just decided I
00:24wanted to go play with puppies.
00:30I kind of wanted one of my own,
00:32but at the same time didn't know
00:34if I had the energy
00:36physically and mentally to have one
00:38and train it and do all the things.
00:40That led me to one of the stores
00:42that had a Homes for Life
00:44program.

01:02She had been adopted at two months
01:04with the owners for seven, and then
01:06she had been given back.
01:08Her lifestyle
01:10changed is what they told them.
01:12But they had let me know that she was
01:14very sick. She had, like,
01:16respiratory issues and stuff, and
01:18they were treating her at the time.
01:20But it's hard because if you go
01:22and play with her, you can't play
01:24with the other puppies because she's sick.

01:34standoffish.
01:36She had no interest in things.
01:40In a way, it kind of reminded me of myself
01:42and my issues and just how I've felt
01:44the last few years.

01:52heartbroken if someone, you know,
01:54adopted her and I couldn't see her anymore.
01:56So I decided to adopt her.

02:06I can take her to a dog park
02:08and she can run around for hours.

02:14she just, like, wags and just sits there
02:16and waits, and as soon as I get on the bed,
02:18she jumps on me, and she's such a kisser.

02:22She has just fulfilled
02:24a part of me that I didn't even realize I had.
