Mayor Zamora denies allegations of flying voters in San Juan

San Juan Mayor Francis Zamora challenges Sen. Jinggoy Estrada to file an exclusion over his allegations that 32 percent are flying voters in the city. In a press conference at his office on Nov. 21, 2024, Zamora denied Estrada's allegations. Estrada was San Juan mayor from 1992 to 2001 before running for senator. It was Zamora who ended the 50-year rule of the Estradas in the city when he defeated Janella Estrada, the granddaughter of former president Joseph Estrada in 2019. Zamora is seeking a third term.

00:00Flying voters, Mayor Francis Zamora here in San Juan. My question is, where are they?
00:07Have you seen 30,000 flying voters from our community?
00:1230,000 people, they say, are flying voters.
00:16Do they have any evidence? Do they have photos or videos
00:21where people will run to register in the community? Can they be seen?
00:26If so many people are flying voters here in San Juan,
00:32they should have noticed something.
00:34They should have taken a video.
00:37Yesterday, the buses and jeeps were still running.
00:40These people are flying voters.
00:43Where is the evidence?
00:45That is what I want to ask Senator Estrada.
00:50I am challenging him to file an exclusion in court.
00:55If there are really 30,000 flying voters, what are their names?
01:00Where do they live?
01:02I am challenging him.
01:05I am challenging you, Senator Gingo Estrada,
01:08to file an exclusion in court.
01:11There are many legal remedies you can do.
01:14First of all, when it comes to voter registration,
01:19there is what is called opposition.
01:21Anyone can oppose.
01:23They opposed in 2024 and applied as a voter.
01:28A well-known supporter of Estrada opposed.
01:32What happened?
01:34The people who opposed them were angry because they were forced to do so.
01:39Because they were forced to go to the homelink,
01:41they were not able to get a job.
01:43They were forced to use that day to go to the homelink
01:47to present themselves.
01:49What was the outcome?
01:52All of 1,224 were allowed to go to the ERB.
01:57Senator Gingo Estrada,
01:59wake up to the truth.
02:02Estrada is no longer a candidate for San Juan.
02:05From 2019, I was a mayor in Moran.
02:09Until now, I am a mayor in Moran.
02:11Estrada is no longer a candidate for San Juan.
02:14I want to remind you
02:16that in 2019, when you were elected as a senator,
02:20you were only number 13 here in San Juan.
02:23In 2022, you were only number 14 here in San Juan.
02:30So, if you think that Estrada is still a candidate for San Juan,
02:36you are wrong.
02:38You will not be able to defeat yourselves here.
02:41What are your candidates?
02:43I don't need flying boaters to win here in San Juan.
02:48I will prove that
02:50because after I won in 2019,
02:54I was virtually unopposed in the following elections.
02:58So, we have proven to our fellow San Juanans
03:03that we can do this as mayors.
03:05We are doing our duties.
03:07San Juan has changed a lot.
03:09I want to remind you
03:12that if he says that we need flying boaters to win,
03:17I want to remind you
03:19that we do not need flying boaters
03:26because he gave his trust to us.
03:32I will not waste his trust.
03:35And because we won 15-0 in 2020,
03:40it means that our fellow San Juanans trust us.
