00:00Fellas, I gotta start by saying I love that you win an award become the most awarded artist in CMA history
00:05And then what 10-15 minutes later Chris Stapleton tied you?
00:09We're used to it man love that what is wrong with you Tetris you get us in there and say yeah, I love this
00:15Okay, so you had it for like that long
00:19So, what are we gonna do about up for one more category tonight, how are we gonna stop this fellas?
00:25I know we need to pull some plugs. It sounds like right congratulations, man
00:29I think that's a really huge deal. And of course, you guys just won this award 32 years after you won your first CMA
00:34So, how does that feel to keep being respected in the industry?
00:38it feels
00:39It's shocking. I don't know how you put it into words, honestly, but yeah
00:44And going at this long is I don't know. I got lost here in my mumbling. But you know
00:52Unexpected I think is it is a good word. You'd expect us to say that most people would say that but like
00:59If we just said that 20 years ago, you know
01:02You could say BS for us to I think our last award we were reminded in a press conference a little while ago was in
01:102006 say we expected that in
01:1424
01:16Probably not, you know, we're not that dumb
01:21Like five years ago when you guys started with like reboot reboot
01:23So what was the time to get back into everything? You know, you'll have to ask our manager that we were perfectly content
01:30To write it off into the sunset, but you didn't need to you the fans wanted more
01:34Well, I I guess you know, we just threw it out there and then they took to it
01:39Then taking a song from reboot 2 and performing it with my boy Jelly Roll. That was so awesome
01:44So how was it to be on stage with him? And why'd you guys pick that track? He's such a great spirit
01:48He just says, you know, he and Ronnie sound great together as a it's a really cool record
01:53I think it just you know
01:55Robert Deaton, you know who puts his show together and we've known for a long time
01:59I I haven't had a chance to talk to him about the first time he heard it and how that conversation went with our manager
02:05About making that happen
02:07but I I know him well enough to know we got to have this on the show because it does kind of smell like
02:13This is this is gonna be a moment and Ronnie and Jelly Roll is an evangelist man
02:18He takes you to church. He's an evangelist. You know that spirit
02:23And now now that you guys, you know got the success rolling. Are we gonna maybe see a reboot 3 coming?
02:28We're gonna get reboot 2 off the ground first
02:32No, we didn't plan one or two we got done I think we just released it last week's
02:41And then I heard you guys cracking some jokes about good old car Brooks back there man
02:44So is it a Brooks little competition? How is it with him? Oh, no Lord. No
02:48I was I was really making reference to you know
02:51Garth was he was swinging across Coliseums on wires and stuff like that and we were doing stuff. That was just
02:58Maybe not just that crazy. But actually I did used to Tarzan swing in our sound checks
03:05We would we would get a rope lined up from the balcony and then in a sound check
03:10I would Tarzan swing down to the stage. So Ronnie would make sure I wasn't going to die
03:15But then and then we did that on the encore, but I would always because I was always sweaty
03:19You know my hands when I would grab that rope and look down at this stage and go probably not the smartest thing I ever did
03:27Lastly when I talk to legends like you guys I'd like to say what's something you haven't been asked that you wish somebody would talk
03:33to you about
03:37Good question really good. It is. I think we're really excited honestly that that you're asking about the music
03:44You know, I mean, it's it's not the nonsense and it's not the I mean touring is great and everything else
03:52But you know, it really is the fact songwriters first and foremost, you know, that's the thing that Haggard said told us years ago
03:58He's I'm a songwriter before I'm Earl Haggard. And I think that's that's that's the deal
04:04Doing these reboot albums if these acts weren't wanting to participate in this music
04:09So they obviously respected for two albums worth and that's about let's see 30 different cuts now
04:17Yeah, so to think this this many years later in our camp
04:27Congratulations guys, make sure you celebrate big tonight. All right, we're gonna do all right cool. Thanks so much
