00:00Let's look at Darwin Nunes and maybe let's take a first look at, you know, a bit more
00:07timelessly his Liverpool career. Obviously, he's played a lot of games under Jurgen Klopp
00:13specifically. You know, the fans maybe sort of expected more of those comparisons to Luis
00:19Suarez when he first came in. What have you sort of made of his Liverpool career and how
00:25has he adjusted to Arnish slot? But, you know, just start with how he's sort of been
00:30received at the club so far.
00:32I think his performance against Aston Villa was almost a microcosm of his Liverpool career.
00:40You know, he scores a real good goal but he misses a couple more chances as well. Easier
00:46chances potentially. One where he goes through one-on-one and the header in the second half
00:52when he's teased up by Andy Robertson. It's been up and down. I think everyone would agree
00:57that there have been some unbelievable moments from Darwin Nunes. He's a handful for any
01:05defence when he's at the top of his game. He can cause chaos but he can be frustrating
01:13as well. But I think this season what Liverpool fans have appreciated more is his defensive
01:18work has stepped up. There's been so many times when he's dropped back and put the opposition
01:24under pressure rather than maybe staying on the final defender's shoulder. You know, he's
01:30putting it in for the team and then obviously that means he's got to get up the pitch quicker
01:34then. I mean, there's one moment in the Aston Villa game, I remember, when he was at and
01:38Norse was the centre midfielder because Curtis Jones had gone and pressed and Darwin Nunes
01:44sort of thought, right, I need to go in and drop in here otherwise we're going to be exposed.
01:47So it looks like he's maturing. But if you're judging Diogo Diotta's performances this season
01:55and Darwin Nunes's, you're probably going to say that Diotta's just shaded it. But I
02:02think Arnaud Slot will have to protect Diogo Diotta just because of his injury record.
02:07So he just needs, I think he has a bit of a run of games so far. He's done well, Liverpool
02:14kept on winning, but you still think there can be more to come from him.
02:20Yeah, do you think the sort of main part of his game, a big positive, is that he can play
02:25sort of anywhere across that front line? You know, we've seen him have some amazing performances
02:29on the left and he comes inside. But, you know, it's just the chances that he constantly
02:34tends to miss that sort of overshadow his best work in the Liverpool shirt.
02:39Yeah, he can play on the left but he hasn't played there yet. Slot has been loose, he
02:43hasn't called the gap, but we've been the options there. So he is seen as a centre forwards
02:48primarily now and Liverpool knew he was a riding role and someone they had to try to
02:55hone and Arnaud Slot looks like he's doing that.
