00:00Morning Sheffield, it's Alistair from the Sheffield Star. I'm speaking to you on the
00:03morning of Monday the 18th of November where we've been told there's going to
00:07be some heavy sleet and snow by the end of today. Starting from around 6 p.m.
00:11we're going to expect some sleet in Sheffield, maybe not driving, not
00:14brought in by any like stiff wind at all, but it is a precursor to the incredibly
00:18heavy snow we're expecting to see overnight. There is a yellow weather
00:21warning until 10 a.m. tomorrow, that being Tuesday, during which we're
00:25going to see heavy snow all evening and it's going to feel about minus 4
00:29outside under the conditions. The actual air temperature will drop to around 0
00:32so there is a good chance of some snow tomorrow as well. Because the sleet is
00:36going to fall today it's going to make the city quite wet and that's going to
00:39kind of affect the chances of the snow even being able to settle. The Met Office
00:43has given a low chance of the snow settling. If it did it's going to cause
00:46some quite severe disruptions but they said that's very unlikely given the
00:50circumstances. So we may wake up to tomorrow to Sheffield being blanketed in
00:54snow or it could just be kind of mush by that point. The point is, more to the
00:57point, it's going to be quite cold. It's going to feel about minus 4 overnight so
01:01do take care of that. It's going to get back to sunny conditions by tomorrow so
01:05around 9 a.m. Tuesday it'll feel cold out but there will be some unbroken
01:08sunshine in the meantime. However, yes, snow tonight, sleet this afternoon, first
01:13blast of winter is here, it's really going to start biting. Stay safe, stay warm and
01:17mind the weather warning that's in place.
