00:00And I have come to Rio with a simple message, G20 leaders must lead, and G20 countries by
00:21definition have tremendous economic clout and they yield massive diplomatic leverage.
00:28They must use it to tackle key global problems.
00:33Climate crisis has burned through another record with 2024 likely to be the hottest
00:38year in history.
00:41We see the impacts everywhere and look no further than the drought in the Amazon and
00:46horrible floods in southern Brazil.
00:50Peace in Gaza with an immediate ceasefire, the immediate release of all hostages, and
00:57the beginning of an irreversible process towards a two-state solution.
01:02Peace in Lebanon with a ceasefire and meaningful steps towards implementing Security Council
01:08resolutions in full.
01:11Peace in Ukraine by following the UN Charter, UN resolutions, and international law.
01:18Peace in Sudan by leaders leaning on the warring parties to end the horrific violence and desperate
01:26humanitarian crisis being unleashed on civilians.
01:30Everywhere, peace requires actions grounded in the values of the UN Charter, the rule
01:36of law, and the principles of sovereignty, political independence, and territorial integrity
01:42of states.
