00:00Meanwhile, in Venezuela, the National Congress of the Bolivarian Historical
00:03Bloc continues. For more details on its third day, we go live with our special
00:08envoy Belen de los Santos.
00:13Exactly, Luis, thank you. We are here in the Grand Congress of the Bolivarian
00:19Historical Bloc, as we have been yesterday as well, as we have been
00:23bringing you all the information from here. And this day is marked, as we said
00:29in our last touch live, by the proposal made by the President Nicolás Maduro to
00:36discuss the theoretical concept of the historical bloc. You know that the full
00:42name of this Congress has to do with the Bolivarian Historical Bloc Congress, and
00:47the idea is to really think about this concept. And what this concept is, is a
00:53Gramscian concept to understand the current scenarios and the political
00:57forces at play in a particular country. In this case, we are talking about
01:03Venezuela. The historical bloc has to do with analyzing the economic
01:09structure of a moment in particular, of a historical moment, and also the political
01:16forces and civilian forces that are at play at that moment. And all of that
01:22combination gives the present moment and the possibilities of governance, of
01:28transformation, of the dynamics of a society at a given time. So the idea of
01:35focusing this day, after the delegates from all over the country have been
01:40talking about the different problematics and different key issues that they are
01:46thinking how to transform and how to continue deepening the Bolivarian
01:50Revolution in the upcoming years. Now they are focusing today in understanding
01:56and deepening their understanding of the concept of the present time. What is the
02:03economical structure right now that is marking this present time in Venezuela?
02:09What are all the actors at play? The political actors, the social actors, the
02:15civilian society, and what can be done to really push forward the revolution, the
02:23revolutionary process in the right direction according to what the basis,
02:29the territories are deciding. So among these assemblies, let's think that out of
02:34the seven assemblies that have been discussing issues related to economics,
02:39to the social well-being, to political participation, now they're focusing all
02:45the debate around this single topic. And this has to do with the importance of
02:51their own political education and formation. The idea of deepening the
02:58theoretical thought about the moment because that is what this moment of the
03:04Bolivarian process demands. It demands the compromise from every militant, from
03:11every society member to really understand what is happening and so to
03:16move forward their activity in society in a way that makes sense for this
03:23present time. So it's a Congress marked by a lot of popular participation, a lot
03:29of deep thought and debate. People are coming from different parts of the
03:34country and they're bringing their stories and the stories from all those
03:39people, men, women, militants in other parts of the territory who could not come
03:44here because of course here there are only delegations. But the real debate has
03:48happened in all the territories since September. So they want to speak about
03:52the productive processes of every area. What do they need? What do people need to
03:58continue deepening this process? So everything is coming together and all
04:04the voices from the different generations will be talking to the youth
04:08movement, will be talking to the feminist movement, will be talking to workers from
04:12different productive sectors and they are all bringing their proposals and
04:19opinions to understand what this moment for Venezuela is about and how this
04:25revolutionary process will move on for the next mandate and also for the
04:30next 30 years. So that is what is happening right now. This day is also
04:36coming to a close in terms of the debate but there will be a movie featured that
04:42is focused on Eliprimera and that is what the delegates are going to be
04:48seeing. Again continuing the reflection process regarding the Venezuelan history,
04:54the Venezuelan process leaders and everything is coming together in a
05:00congress that is really set to spark popular participation for the years to
05:06come.
