00:10Content creator Marissa Wong has been taking the internet by storm with her honest and humorous reviews of Malaysia's public toilets.

00:19Titled Berat Bersama Marissa Wong, she has amassed close to 150,000 followers on Facebook, Instagram and TikTok.

00:29F&T Lifestyle recently sat down with Wong, although not in a toilet, to learn more about her crappy endeavour.

00:38To date, Wong has reviewed close to 300 toilets, which is quite an unenviable feat.

00:45So this year, I decided to do a simpler version where I just voiceover but speaking in Malay because I want to target Malaysians,

00:54not people from overseas because they can't relate to us having a bidet in the toilet, they can't relate to us having wet toilets.

01:01So that's when I started this Mari Kita Berat Bersama Marissa.

01:06And I wanted to make it not so sensitive, that's why the words I use in there, I try to make it as funny as possible,

01:13try to add some comedic elements in it to make viewers get more comfortable with my videos.

01:22More than mere potty talk, Wong hopes her videos will compel Malaysians to appreciate public toilets.

01:29I learned that actually most of our public toilets are very much destroyed by us.

01:36So for example, the pipe bursting, water running, wet toilets are all done by Malaysians themselves.

01:45Just because we don't do that in our house.

01:48So a lot of people tend to actually destroy the public toilet or use it without caring about the next user.

01:55So I feel like something like this needs to be addressed now.

01:59And of course, premises owners as well, a lot of them just abandon the hygiene of their toilet when they are doing very well selling their food, for example.

02:10While her journey isn't always sweet smelling, there have been funny moments that put a smile on her face.

02:17But the funniest thing is probably a kid telling me like, I know you, you're the Berat girl, you can swim in the toilet.

02:24So yeah, I get that a lot in the toilet as well.

02:27Or like restaurants, when I dine there, I can see the restaurant owners are like, all the staff just rush to the toilet and clean.

02:34And then they come to me and they say like, you can visit our toilets, it's really clean.

02:38And I'm like, okay, thank you.

02:41She also wants to inspire the younger generation to voice out issues in a humorous and effective way.

02:48People haven't revealed roads yet.

02:50People haven't revealed MRTs.

02:52So imagine if the younger generation starts to reveal potholes, the government is going to do something.

02:59Or the landowner is going to do something about it.

03:01Or start removing bumps.

03:03And no, Wong didn't let FMT get away easily.

03:07She also reviewed a shared restroom where the FMT office is located.

03:12So how did it fare?

03:38It's a bit like a sauna.

03:40Because the boss here doesn't want his staff to play with their phones in the toilet.

03:47So he gave them the Berat girl.

03:50Here, the toilet is really new.

03:56The maintenance must have changed a bit.

03:59It's yellow now.

04:00This toilet has no head, but it's okay.

04:03It can be used.

04:04I don't know who owns this.

04:08Now let's go to the squat area.
