02:18and its positive assessment in various areas, including security and defence, training as well as the exchange of experience and expertise.
02:28Nearly 50 decision-makers and French business leaders held in Lyon a meeting with local officials
02:37and elected officials wanted to explore the opportunities for investment and partnership in the southern provinces.
02:44Naama Maalainen tells us about it in this story by Jeymaa Fekri.
02:50It is an exceptional partnership that links France to Morocco.
02:55Paris expressed its clear support for the Moroccan side of the Sahara.
02:59During his visit to the city of Lyon, the French Ambassador Christophe Lecourtier met several local officials,
03:06including the President of the Municipal Council of Lyon, the President of the Council of the Region Lyon Saqqialhamra and the Governor of the Region.
03:14We came here to express the political will that had been stated during the visit of the President of the Republic to the invitation of His Majesty
03:24by the letter he addressed him this summer.
03:27We have here started to measure all the opportunities that arise in the economic field.
03:33We were presented with the regional development plan, in the cultural field, in other fields that also interest us,
03:40in particular in this school.
03:43And today we are able to start to imagine the projects in response to these opportunities.
03:51The interviews were carried out on the indisputable support of the Hexagon to the Moroccan Sahara,
03:56as well as on the advanced development projects in the southern provinces as part of the development model.
04:03This visit of the French Ambassador comes 15 days after that of President Macron in Morocco.
04:14It reflects the diplomatic will of Paris and also translates the radiance of the royal vision in terms of international support for our territorial integrity.
04:24As part of this visit, the French Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Morocco organizes its Economic Days Morocco-France
04:33in the regions of the Saqqialhamra and the Dahab Valley.
04:36An event that brings together nearly 50 decision-makers and French business leaders
04:41and an opportunity to present the regional and local development plans.
04:45It is also about allowing participants to better understand the economic priorities of the two regions,
04:51particularly in promising sectors such as renewable energies, fishing, water and infrastructure.
04:57This visit was not limited to the economic aspect, but also took on a cultural dimension
05:03since the delegation visited the French school of Laayoune,
05:06a gesture that embodies the depth of cultural ties and educational cooperation between the two countries.
05:14The Spanish Civil Guard, in collaboration with the Directorate of Territorial Surveillance in Morocco,
05:22intercepted 4.7 tons of cannabis on board two pneumatic boats between the islands of Grande Canary and Fuerteventura.
05:33The operation was made possible thanks to close police cooperation with Morocco.
05:38Morocco has deployed a maritime surveillance system that has located the boats loaded with 131 drugs
05:48about 80 km off the coast.
05:51The local press reported this Tuesday that it has cited police sources.
05:56The charges have been placed at the disposal of the Spanish justice,
06:00which has ordered their temporary detention.
06:03Indicates the same source.
06:06In the United States, after a day spent unveiling the casting of his future administration,
06:12Donald Trump confirmed yesterday his campaign promise by naming the richest man on the planet,
06:19Elon Musk, at the head of a new government efficiency ministry.
06:24The elected president announced that he intended to appoint Tesla's and X's boss,
06:30who played an unprecedented role in his campaign in conjunction with Republican businessman Vivek Ramaswamy.
06:38Elon Musk then announced on the social network X that the actions of the ministry would be listed online for maximum transparency.
06:47Trump also announced that he intends to appoint as Minister of Defense Peter Hexhead,
06:52a former major in the American army,
06:55today presenter on Fox News, the favorite channel of conservatives in the United States.
07:01Donald Trump, who will pursue his nomination throughout the week,
07:04was due to be fixed on Tuesday on the legality of his criminal conviction in New York,
07:09but the judge rejected his decision on November 19.
07:15At the moment, Yemen's Houthis attacked two American ships on Monday with drones and missiles in the Detroit of Bab el-Mandeb.
07:25The ships played the assault and no damage was reported.
07:29This is what the US Department of Defense announced yesterday.
07:33The ships were attacked by at least eight explosive drones, five ballistic missiles,
07:39anti-ship missiles and three anti-ship cruise missiles, which were failed to declare.
07:45In the press, Pentagon spokesman General Pat Reader,
07:50the ships were not damaged, no one was injured, added the spokesman since the beginning of the Gaza war.
07:57The Houthis carried out several attacks against Israel,
08:01as well as a collage of Yemen against ships that, according to them,
08:05were linked to Israel, claiming to be in solidarity with the Palestinians.
08:14Direction now to Senegal,
08:16less than a week from the closure of the electoral campaign of the legislatives anticipated on November 17.
08:24Violence still persists in the political space.
08:27The political situation of the clashes has been noted in several localities.
08:32Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko called for calm.
08:35This is a report by Ouseinou Nyong and Cheikh N'Daou.
08:40The electoral campaign for the elections of November 17 is still marked by a persistence of scenes of violence.
08:46This despite the various calls of the Senegalese president to a peaceful election.
08:52However, since the beginning of the campaign,
08:54measures have been taken by the Senegalese people of the interior for a peaceful election.
08:59According to some analysts, this showed tensions due to the continuity of political discourses
09:03and the absence of programmatic debates.
09:06The violence was not only in the action, but in the verb already,
09:09because there were already armed discourses.
09:11Then we really expected background debates.
09:14We also hoped to have the strength of the argument and not the argument of the force,
09:20but we saw that in the end, there was a lot of violence.
09:24The messages we were waiting for were not at the rendezvous.
09:28And in truth, there were less background debates, there were less deep debates.
09:34We were really waiting for deep debates, particularly on the programmatic proposals.
09:40But there were no programs put in truth.
09:43But there were attacks.
09:45And it is true that the Senegalese are not used to seeing these people in the countryside.
09:51Faced with this tense tension, the activists of the civil society
09:54call the political actors to more responsibility and to a citizen education.
09:59For the rest of the campaign, the leaders have to speak to their militants,
10:04by telling them to hit the ground.
10:06It is useless to challenge each other,
10:09in any case, by bending the muscles or by showing that we are more warriors than the others.
10:13It is useless at all.
10:15Because we finish the day of the scrutin, it is not with the muscles that we will vote.
10:20We will vote with intelligence.
10:22There was the school of the parties.
10:24There was a certain education that the coalitions of parties
10:29should do with their militants,
10:32in terms of awareness, in terms of awareness,
10:36in relation to their rights and duties.
10:39Senegal is recognized for its democratic and peaceful trajectory.
10:43The legislative elections, anticipated for 17 November,
10:47constitute an appointment to better affirm this commitment to democracy
10:51and to ban violence in the political space.
10:56Place à présent à l'invité du Grand Journal, Médien Morning.
11:02The summit on climate action, the COP29, continues in Bakou.
11:06The issue this year is financial aid to developing countries
11:11to face climate change.
11:13Aware of the urgency of the challenges posed by this phenomenon,
11:16Morocco has resolutely engaged in the path of an ecological transition
11:21linked to economic development and environmental responsibility.
11:25To talk about it, we are live with Oumayma Khalil Elfen,
11:29a researcher specializing in environmental engineering
11:34and sustainable development.
11:37Hello Oumayma Khalil Elfen,
11:40and thank you for accepting our invitation.
11:46Hello.
11:50With great pleasure.
11:52This COP29 is an opportunity to focus on the kingdom's progress
11:59in the fight against climate change.
12:02The kingdom is full of unprecedented projects.
12:05We are talking about the Noor solar station in Ouarzazate,
12:10a major energy production site,
12:13or the Terec wind power plant near Tarfaya,
12:16without forgetting the desalination stations of seawater.
12:19What assessment do you make of Morocco's major projects
12:24on an environmental level?
12:34Yes, indeed, today Morocco is recognized as a leader
12:37in terms of climate policy,
12:40in terms of sustainable development policy,
12:43and it is among the developing countries
12:45that have positioned themselves internationally
12:48thanks to the great commitments that have been made on major projects.
12:54And of course, as you have already mentioned,
12:56in terms of renewable energy,
12:58today we are a country positioned in relation to this strategy,
13:06and we have a great ambitious energy policy
13:11that is illustrated by the power plants that are already in place,
13:16as well as an infrastructure that is part of a national objective
13:20that of course aims to achieve energy efficiency
13:25or energy transition.
13:27Also, in terms of managing water challenges today,
13:32in the context of droughts, floods,
13:35with large desalination stations of seawater,
13:39Morocco has been able to manage this situation well
13:46and also, I will quote here,
13:49the great national strategy for sustainable development
13:54that is oriented towards an ecological transition
13:58that integrates the great international environmental norms
14:01in all sectors, in greenhouses,
14:04promoting circular economy and also soft mobility, etc.
14:09So here, Morocco is on an international stage
14:14with very ambitious commitments in terms of reducing
14:19the emissions of greenhouse gases
14:23through the national CDNs,
14:28which of course aims to achieve a reduction
14:32of about 50% by 2030.
14:36So these commitments are supported with great ambition,
14:40with great strategies, great plans
14:42and also with great or strong environmental legislation
14:45that is very rigorous,
14:47including the Environment Charter,
14:50a very diversified set of laws
14:55in everything that concerns water management,
14:58waste management.
15:00So here, Morocco, and since its acceptance of COP22 in 2017,
15:08Morocco has demonstrated its great capacity
15:11to mobilize the international community
15:14and also its commitment to the collective international community
15:18to face this international climate change.
15:24Let's talk about the challenges.
15:26What are the challenges of this COP29
15:29in the current ecological context of Morocco?
15:34So the context, of course,
15:37we know very well that this COP comes in an international context,
15:41geopolitical and biostrategic,
15:45which is a bit unstable at the end.
15:53Today, Morocco, in this international context,
15:56despite all these environmental and geopolitical climate changes,
16:02continues to assume its role as a leader in the climate trajectory.
16:09It actively pleads for climate justice,
16:12not only at the national level, but at the African level.
16:15Because Morocco, we know very well that it plays the role of a leader
16:19in facilitating climate cooperation
16:21and initiating commissions for the mobilization of resources in favor of countries.
16:26And yet we know very well that the international challenge today
16:29facing the adaptation of climate change
16:31is the challenge of financing and the challenge of access to financing
16:36for vulnerable countries and especially African countries.
16:42Morocco defends this fair approach during the COP
16:47and especially this year as well.
16:49It always calls on industrialized countries to respect their commitment
16:54to a fair financing, a viable and sustainable financing
16:59for all developing nations.
17:01Madam Oumeyma Khalil Elfen, thank you for answering our questions.
17:07I remind you that you are a researcher in sustainable development.
17:17We will now place the guests of Media TV.
17:24Media TV presents
17:30We have nine delegations and in these nine delegations that you count,
17:34there is also already the IOUNE and DARLA.
17:37The IOUNE was opened in 2017 and DARLA was opened in 2019.
17:41In 2017, on the occasion of a large company forum
17:45that was organized here by my predecessor, Mr. Philippe Klein,
17:49and also a forum that was organized at DARLA with the visit of 200 companies
17:54when we inaugurated our delegation at DARLA.
17:58It was in November 2019, it seems to me, under the presidency of Mr. Klein as well.
18:03So the impulse, if you will, of the southern provinces,
18:05it has been given since 2017 at the Chamber level
18:07and today we continue to make these provinces live
18:13and we have continued our approach by opening our delegation in Gelmim in February 2024.
18:19So we continue and we hope that today
18:22all the companies will accompany us in these delegations
18:26and make these delegations live with us on future investments.
18:34I must say that I am very proud of this, a lead-up in this area.
18:38We have developed, through sovereign national strategies,
18:44renewable energies that are varied today.
18:48Solar, wind, but also hydrogen.
18:53And this puts us, with our African friends,
19:01but also our European friends,
19:04in a complete and systematic synergy vis-à-vis the future.
19:12Morocco, on the legislative level, but also on the practical level,
19:18we have developed a lot of means to both integrate into this new warm climate.
19:31The profound phenomenon is the change of the Moroccan family form.
19:35And these are things that are difficult to talk about
19:37because the change of the family form is linked to two elements.
19:40On the one hand, by becoming citizens and citizens,
19:44and by benefiting from more and more quality public services,
19:47even if there is still a lot to do,
19:49we know how to individualize.
19:51At school, it is as an individual that we are evaluated.
19:54As citizens, when we vote, it is as an individual, in front of justice, etc.
19:59And so we are less and less in communal or traditional tribal forms.
20:04And so the family form looks like this evolution,
20:08that is to say, it is based on the couple,
20:11on the nuclear family, which is first a nucleus,
20:14that is to say, the couple, and then the parenthood, that is to say, the children.
20:22To put this nomination back in its context,
20:26we remind you that Mr. Trump managed to achieve an overwhelming electoral victory,
20:32which was largely the result of the efforts of Mrs. Wiles,
20:38who managed to discipline the Republican campaign
20:43to counterbalance the erratic behavior
20:48and distractions of her own candidate, Mr. Trump.
20:52And this nomination also has as its objective,
20:58concerning Mr. Trump,
21:00to build a bridge between the electoral deadlock
21:04and the more traditional Republicans.
21:06Because Mrs. Wiles managed to establish relations
21:10in order to unite these two fronts of the Republican Party.
21:15And this is essential for the continuation of things,
21:18in order to consolidate the political unity of the Republicans around Mr. Trump.
21:23So, Diageo represents a lot for the GORE region.
21:27It is a carnival that is highly anticipated,
21:29because it is a carnival that brings a lot of joy to the region.
21:33We do several activities, we take action in the region.
21:39Because Diageo itself means rejoicing.
21:42Diageo means rejoicing.
21:43In BT, Diageo means rejoicing.
21:47It is a carnival that is highly anticipated in our region.
22:02This is how this edition ends.
22:05Thank you for following it.
22:07Stay with us.
22:08The training continues on Media Integrée.
