00:04Italy should improve the attractiveness of investments in the pharmaceutical sector and its competitiveness at a global level.
00:12Today, Italy is positioned for foreign direct investments behind Germany, France and Spain.
00:19So we have lost this ability to attract investments in a global panorama, in a market that is increasingly competitive.
00:27What should Italy do? First of all, it should create an environment, that is, a system of rules and incentive mechanisms that are attractive, as other countries are doing.
00:38In Europe, we have seen over the years that other countries have equipped themselves with a real vision and strategy of life science.
00:47A structured plan of interventions and an integrated policy that can also involve other ministries.
00:54So let's also think about research policies, health policies, which are fundamental in a system in which we want to enhance this sector.
01:02A sector that is important, that gives a contribution of more than 2% of the GDP to our country.
01:09And if we only look at the share of multinationals in foreign capital that join the APG and Unifarma, we are talking about about 20 billion euros of direct, indirect and inductive contribution, more than 1% of the GDP.
01:22A value that can certainly increase and therefore help to accelerate the recovery and economic growth that our country needs.
