00:00Government agencies are alert not only to the impact of Hurricane Nika but also to the other two hurricanes that will enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility.

00:10DSWD has promised to provide additional assistance to the affected areas.

00:21The government is also aware of the other hurricanes that will enter the country,

00:25Aside from Hurricane Nika, it is also expected that Hurricane Ophel and Pepito will also have an effect this week.

00:31The possible landslides are being prepared because the land could become saturated due to the continuous rain.

00:38Between November 11 and November 17, we will have three typhoons entering the Philippines, all in the same path.

00:45So, between Marsi and Pepito, that makes it four typhoons in 10 days, following the same trajectory.

00:53In addition, the mandatory evacuation has been ordered to the affected areas,

00:59especially in Ilocos Region, Cagayan Valley, and Cordillera, where there are 2,500 barangays that have a high chance of flooding and landslides.

01:09The coordination of the public is needed here.

01:13We are prepared on the ground as far as national agencies and first responders are concerned.

01:17But it's a matter of cooperation of our population that when it comes to evacuation, we will resolve it.

01:25The Department of Health will coordinate with the LGUs for the evacuation of high-risk patients.

01:32These include those in the third trimester of pregnancy, lactating mothers, children, elderly, persons with disabilities, and others.

01:42The hospitals are in good condition despite the typhoons caused by the DOH.

01:47Even though there were some damages caused by the typhoon Christine and other typhoons in the past,

01:55they were all remedied.

01:57That's why everything is functional and there are generators on standby to make sure that there is the continuity of services.

02:07The DSWD will also continue to distribute relief items to affected areas,

02:13where more than 227,000 family food packs are prepositioned in Ilocos Region, Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon, and Cordillera.

02:23Because we have prepositioned goods in the areas that we expect will be affected by this typhoon Nika,

02:31we expect that we will be able to easily provide augmentation support to local government units.

02:38Meanwhile, because of the typhoon Marseille, one person died.

02:42More than Php 16 million was spent on agriculture while Php 25.3 million was spent on infrastructure.
