00:23VR or Virtual Reality is one of the recent innovations in the world of gaming.
00:34But did you know that it's not just used for entertainment?
00:39Virtual reality can be used to simulate a chemistry lab,
00:47transport and display the composition of an animal cell,
00:51and operate a machine.
00:54That's right! Because of our innovation today, students will be able to study using mixed reality.
01:02Introducing Parallax, an educational tech simulation app that will give students a hands-on experience with the use of mixed reality.
01:13Developed by Engineer Albert Sonamante and his team at Batangas State University.
01:18There is a gap on the access to laboratories, the access to these laboratories can be very expensive,
01:24and sometimes it can be very dangerous to perform such experimentations.
01:30So what we've come up with is something that is virtual.
01:35Engineer Albert and his team entered the world of mixed reality by making Mr. Tour Guide under DOST.
01:42Here, the heritage sites of Batangas City can be visited virtually.
01:47And in 2023, with the help of DOST TAPI, they started Parallaxed.
01:53We have developers, graphic artists, experts in virtual reality and 3D design.
02:01We also have some resource persons because we're talking about subject matter experts.
02:05We will now try Parallaxed.
02:08And the first simulation we will try is the animal cell.
