00:00President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. is expecting the problem of flooding to be resolved after the approval of the construction of two major flood control projects in the country.

00:18In the face of climate change, the government will pay more attention to the two major flood control projects in the country.
00:25In the 22nd NEDA board meeting led by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., it approved the expansion of the construction and other adjustments of the Cavite Industrial Area Flood Risk Management Project and Pasig-Marikina River Channel Improvement Project Phase 4.
00:41According to the Presidential Communications Office, the board approved the additional project cost of the Cavite Industrial Area Flood Risk Management Project from the previous 9.891 billion pesos, which is now more than 22 billion pesos.
00:54According to the President, the structure of the project will be more effective in the changing climate, as well as in the affected areas.
01:02He also added that the cost of the project will increase with the next adjustments, but it still meets the guidelines.
01:08The board also approved the expansion of the implementation of the project from April this year until September of 2029.
01:16There are still some things to be done in the project, such as expanding the diversion channels and increasing the drainage.
01:23The loan reallocation of the project, which has a total of 1.042 billion Japanese Yen, was also adjusted from the consulting services and contingencies.
01:32As of now, the physical accomplishment of the project is already at 44%, and the disbursed fund for this has already reached 35%.
01:40Aside from the project, the effect of the flood in the San Juan River Basin and Maalimango Creek Drainage Area in Cavite will be reduced.
01:47The board also approved a project cost of more than 57 billion pesos for Phase 4 of the Pasig-Marikina River Channel Improvement Project.
01:54Its implementation will also be extended from December 25, 2025 until March 2031.
02:00The board approved a reallocation of 3.363 billion Japanese Yen for this, along with the supplemental loan of 45.759 billion Japanese Yen.
02:10The President also approved the design of a project that is anchored in the changing times to avoid the spillover of the Marikina River,

02:21The project's target is to reduce the flooding of the Pasig-Marikina River during the typhoon,
