00:15The Bicol Region will rise.
00:17That's what President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.

00:27will not stop its actions
00:29to bring back to normal conditions
00:31those affected by Hurricane Christine in the region.

00:35a proactive approach
00:37to avoid widespread flooding
00:39and climate change.
00:41He will also provide a directive to the DPWH

00:53the Department of Public Works and Highways
00:57updated the master plan and feasibility study
01:03of the Bicol River Basin
01:05to address the challenges of climate change.
01:13At present,
01:15the detailed engineering design
01:19that is expected to start in the first quarter of next year
01:24when the new year starts in 2025,
01:29we will start our plan
01:33to avoid flooding in the Bicol River Basin.

02:01While the DBM was instructed
02:03that the Quick Response Fund should always be ready,
02:05the President again acknowledged
02:07the assistance received by the Philippines
02:09from other countries during the floods.
02:12I would like to thank our colleagues in ASEAN
02:17for sending assistance.
02:24Just like other places,
02:26they were also affected by the floods
02:28but we were still given assistance.
02:31They sent airplanes,
02:35they sent equipment,
02:37as well as the private sector
02:40that is ready to help expand the government's projects.
02:45Financial assistance was also received
02:47from farmers and fishermen
02:49who were also affected by the floods.
02:51Just like Salvador,
02:52his farmland was submerged.
02:54That's why he lost 50,000 Pesos.
02:57If you have one hectare,
02:5980,000 Pesos,
03:00maybe half of it,
03:02maybe 30%,
03:04that's why we are suffering.
03:08The President himself received financial assistance
03:10from beneficiaries
03:12that amounted to 50 million Pesos.
03:14He received 50,000 Pesos from 5,000 beneficiaries.
03:18I hope that with the assistance and support
03:21that we are giving to you now,
03:23you will have enough resources
03:28to recover.
03:30The President received 50 million Pesos
03:35that the DSWD will distribute
03:37to those affected by the floods.
03:41The President received 50,000 Pesos
03:45from 5,000 farmers, fishermen,
03:48and other families affected by the floods.
03:50It's a good thing that the beneficiaries
03:52thanked him.
03:53We will plant again,
03:55we will buy seeds,
03:57and then,
03:59what else,
04:01because we are really,
04:03we are poor farmers.
04:06Even though we were affected by the floods,
04:09at least we will be able to recover.
04:12Thank you very much for your support
04:15to the farmers
04:17so that their livelihoods will be saved.
04:20Aside from the financial assistance
04:21from the Office of the President,
