00:00Let's begin where we've begun every single time. The Chiefs play, which is another win, another win.
00:09They just keep on winning. Monday Night Football, it happened again. Yeah, like late in the game, score a touchdown, go home happy, 30-24, although the Bucs did cover the spread.
00:19Patrick Mahomes, probably one of his best games of the season, was really good in the air, and also Kareem Hunt, what a pickup he has been for them as well.
00:27Speaking of pickups, DeAndre Hopkins got involved in the Chiefs' offense early and often, scoring touchdowns, catching passes.
00:34Cade Otten, on the side of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, he was the big winner for Baker Mayfield there.
00:39Despite the fact that they didn't have a couple wide receivers, Buccaneers' offense looked pretty good.
00:43But in the end, Patrick Mahomes, discussed after the game, getting the victory, and also just how important their defense was coming up big late.
00:53Yeah, no, I was obviously running for the goal line, was kind of committed to running the football.
00:59And at the last second, saw some Ajay, and so kind of awkwardly rolled the ankle a little bit.
01:04Definitely scary. I think it hurt more just because it's the same ankle I rolled last week.
01:08So it scared me a little bit, but once I kind of took my breath and kind of calmed down a little bit, it ended up being not too bad.
01:15We were able to go in there, kind of get the respat, and go back on the football field.
01:19Yeah, I was trying to run off the field, and they were telling me not to.
01:22I mean, just kind of the football mentality is to get off the field, and we just scored a touchdown.
01:26And they told me to just take it slow, and as I started walking, I started feeling better.
01:30And obviously, after I get the respat, I mean, get that comfortability back, and then took a few drops and felt good.
01:37I think right now, for the most part, Patrick Mahomes looks healthy, and they're undefeated.
01:42So you know where they're headed, which is toward the playoffs yet again.
01:45We'll see how far they can take this undefeated.
01:47Remember, the only undefeated team in the history of National Football League, 1972, Miami Dolphins.
01:51All right, on the side of the Tambay Buccaneers, Baker Mayfield.
01:53Nice game, but simply not enough.
01:55Talk about that postgame.
01:56Against a team like that, it comes down to little things.
02:00You know, everybody has a hand in this one.
02:02You know, I think for the half, penalties and me not completing the ball on a couple of easy throws on that last drive before halftime,
02:13you're really giving away three points.
02:15And you know, when you look at it against a team like this, that's the difference in winning and losing.
02:18So yeah, just disappointing overall, but our guys fought.
02:23And you know, against a team on the offense like that, you can only give them so many chances.
02:31So when you win the point toss, that's what happens.
02:34But then, you know, I'm proud of all the guys we had on offense that stepped up.
02:37And you know, Todd had a good message.
02:41We're that close.
02:42And don't be used to losing, but just turn this thing around.
02:46And we've got a home game next week, and it's NFC opponent.
02:49And got to find a way to win.
02:51That's it.
02:52Yeah, I would agree.
02:53And Buccaneers still in a good spot to make the playoffs.
02:55They're going to need to win a few more games.
02:56That was a tough one to swallow last night.
02:58Again, they did cover the spread if you did take them last night.
03:00All right, Dallas Cowboys did make a trade.
03:02We'll get to that here in a minute, a smaller trade.
03:04But will they make a bigger trade to get a quarterback?
03:08Remains to be seen, because Dak Prescott is going on injured reserve.
03:11Jerry Jones just did an interview on one of the radio stations in Dallas
03:15saying that he's headed to IR.
03:17So Cooper Rush will take over at least temporarily.
03:19We'll see how long that lasts.
03:22Prescott with a hamstring issue.
03:24I think that's what's being reported.
03:26CeeDee Lamb has a sprained AC joint.
03:28So they added another wide receiver, Jonathan Mingo.
03:31And I'll tell you the details of that trade in just a minute.
03:33But needless to say, no Dak for the next four weeks.
03:35Mike McCarthy talked about the injury.
03:37Yeah, definitely.
03:38I mean, it really doesn't change anything for us.
03:40And even speaking with Dak earlier, I mean, this is about the quarterback room.
03:43I mean, we've always invested all the time and energy into the quarterback,
03:49you know, Dak, that has the football.
03:51So now it's Cooper's turn, and Dak will be part of that process.
03:55And, you know, we'll rally around him and make sure that we do everything we can
03:59and make sure he's prepared.
04:01And we'll just keep going about it the way we've gone about it.
04:04I mean, I think if you just look at the way we played the last game,
04:06I mean, we just really want to improve on the things we did well.
04:10But obviously we had to clean up, you know, the pre-snap penalties,
04:13particularly on the road.
04:15The good thing is that we are coming home to play because that's part of the,
04:18you know, part of the mistakes that we've had.
04:21But, yeah, our focus is really to go into this
04:24and have a game plan to beat the Eagles defense.
04:27And we have great confidence in Cooper.
04:31I think right now Cooper Rush is the starting quarterback of the Dallas Cowboys.
04:34Probably this week.
04:36Beyond that still remains to be seen.
04:38All right, let's get to the National Football League trade deadline
04:40coming up later today.
04:42We did have a couple of moves.
04:43Let's talk about them.
04:44Z'Darrius Smith now goes to yet another team.
04:46This time goes from Cleveland to Detroit.
04:48And they also get a seventh-round pick for a fifth and a sixth.
04:52Smith will help on the defensive line, of course,
04:55with their key player Hutchinson out for the season.
04:58McCaffrey looks like he's headed back to the San Francisco 49ers starting lineup.
05:02They opened that window for him to practice.
05:04He was seen on the practice field yesterday.
05:06So good news for them.
05:07The Cincinnati Bengals now have a new running back in their room.
05:11It is Khalil Herbert from the Chicago Bears.
05:13Zach Moss has a neck injury.
05:15Could be out for the remainder of the season.
05:18And also the Cardinals have traded for past rusher Baron Browning,
05:21sending a 20-25 sixth-round pick in return.
05:25So the trades are coming fast and furious in the NFL.
05:28All right, the Trojans of USC are making a quarterback change.
05:31Jaden Maiava will start over Miller Moss this week against Nebraska,
05:36looking for a boost to the offense.
05:38It's been a tough year for USC.
05:40Texas A&M lost a big game,
05:42and they've also lost their running back Le'Veon Moss for the season.
05:45They were blown out 44-20 against South Carolina.
05:48Mike Elko says they're going to have to go to some backups in the running back room.
05:52In Mac-tion tonight, Mac-action, Bowling Green,
05:5513.5-point favorites on the road at Central Michigan,
05:59and also Ball State, 11.5-point home underdogs against Miami, Ohio.
06:04The total is 47.5 in that game.
06:07In the National Basketball Association, best team in the NBA, Cleveland Cavaliers.
06:12Yes, folks, they win again, 8-0 the final.
06:15Excuse me, they move to 8-0 the final, 116-114.
06:20Meanwhile, the Milwaukee Bucks have just one win on their season.
06:23Paul George returns. He scores 15 points.
06:26Philly falls again. They lose 118-116 to the Suns.
06:31Anthony Davis, unfortunately, had a foot injury
06:34as the Pistons beat the Lakers 115-103.
06:37They play against Memphis on Wednesday.
06:40He is day-to-day. We'll see if he ends up playing in that game.
06:43And the Clippers were down 26 against the Spurs,
06:45and they finally win a home game, 113-104.
06:49So the Clippers, in their brand-new building, finally get a win.
06:51Did you watch any college hoops yesterday?
06:53It was the first day of the college basketball season,
06:56and our first look at Cooper Flagg at the University of Duke.
07:0018.7 rebounds, 5 assists, a blowout.
07:03Not a surprise, a lot of blowouts yesterday, 96-62.
07:07Biggest upset in college basketball yesterday,
07:10unranked Central Florida beats Texas A&M 64-61.
07:15They were 5.5-point underdogs. Darius Johnson had 24 points.
07:19Kansas routes Howard in their opener, 87-57.
07:25And unranked Ohio State goes on the road and beats Texas,
07:29and they end up getting their first win of the season.
07:32Texas was 1.5-point favorites.
07:34In Major League Baseball, free agency has begun.
07:3813 players have received the qualifying offer in Major League Baseball.
07:42If they accept it, they'll get approximately $21 million
07:46on a one-year deal next year.
07:48If they decline it, the teams get a draft pick, and they become free agents.
07:51Some of the names, Alex Bregman, Corbin Burns, Pete Alonso,
07:55Teoscar Hernandez from the World Series champs,
07:58and, of course, Juan Soto, who will no doubt decline that one-year deal.
08:02Garrett Cole, by the way, meanwhile, opted out of his contract,
08:05now has opted back in, apparently.
08:07Not sure exactly what happened with him and the Yankees,
08:09but he'll be with them for the remainder of his deal.
08:11Also, the option on Marcel Ozuna's contract with the Atlanta Braves
08:15has been picked up. It's another year.
08:17It is $16 million. Ozuna will be a free agent in two years.
08:20Also, Nathan Uvalde has declined his player option for next year.
08:24At $20 million, he'll become a free agent
08:26and look for a multi-year deal on the open market.
