00:00The search so far today has been hampered by weather which until around midday prevented
00:06the use of the helicopter or drones.
00:09But a full-scale water search has been underway since the morning and focusing on a different
00:13area with resources sent to the north from the entrance up at Tanora Head.
00:18While the official terminology for this mission has not changed from search to recovery, police
00:23do say that with no sign of the 11-year-old boy who was swept away by the powerful current
00:29here on Sunday afternoon, survivability is a serious concern.
00:34And as the search continues, conversation is turning to adequate signage at the entrance
00:39channel.
00:40The local member here, David Meehan, has told the ABC signage was last updated in 2017 following
00:47the deaths of two fishermen, but he believes that Council needs to look at the idea of
00:51multilingual signage so more visitors to the area from non-English speaking backgrounds
00:57can be made fully aware of the dangerous conditions.
