Police are still very hopeful of finding a hiker who's been missing in the Kosciuszko National Park since Boxing Day. They've found personal items belonging to the 23-year-old, and Hadi Nazari's father says the entire family is keeping its hopes up, but that they're also very stressed. Adriane Reardon reports from the search base camp in Geehi.

00:00Deep in the heart of Kosciuszko National Park, police are still finding signs of missing
00:07hiker Hardy Nazari.
00:09On Sunday we discovered a campfire area as well as a lighter and a camera and camera
00:14case.
00:15Investigators have confirmed those items belonged to the 23-year-old neurosurgeon student who
00:20went missing while hiking along this path almost two weeks ago.
00:25We're making some inquiries in relation to trying to determine how long ago that little
00:29campfire was lit and that'll give us, if we can determine that, some type of timeline
00:35to when he was last in that specific area.
00:38It follows the discovery of hiking poles and rubbish a few kilometres away.
00:43On the ground and in the air, more than 300 crew from several different agencies are scouring
00:48the bushland alongside members of Hardy's family.
00:53We're very worried.
00:54The entire family, his mother, his sisters, everyone is very disturbed, very stressed.
01:00I hope God does not give anyone else this stress.
01:03This is the start of the Hanel's Spur Trail and it was about three kilometres in which
01:08Hardy was last seen by his two friends on Boxing Day afternoon.
01:12The path looks clear from here but as soon as you enter that bushland it becomes quite
01:16dense, quite thick and very steep.
01:20So with this terrain we're doing about 12 kilometres of searching a day.
01:24Search teams are increasingly focusing their efforts on nearby waterways.
01:28We're very hopeful.
01:29If he's got access to water, that's the reason why we're still out here, we're still active.
01:36I thank the entire Government of Australia, the police, whoever is working for Hardy.
01:41I appreciate them.
01:42God willing, we find Hardy and we take him home.
01:46A hope that no one here is giving up on yet.
