00:00Hello it's Martin Dempster the Scotsman Golf Correspondent here coming to you from Club
00:09de Golf Alcanada in Port de Alcudia in Mallorca at the conclusion of the Rolex Challenge Tour
00:18Grand Final supported by the R&A. Fantastic weather for the final day, the season finale
00:28on the DP World Tours feeder circuit and victory has gone to the Norwegian Christoffer Rytan.
00:37He came into the week outside a card winning position in the battle for 20 DP World Tour
00:44cards next season but he was up there from the start. It looked as though the day in
00:51Rasmus Njergjard-Petersen was going to come out on top. He had won three times already
00:57this season to secure promotion to the main tour. He started the final round in the lead
01:04and looked to be in control most of the day. However, just when it looked as though we
01:09were going to have a playoff he missed a short par putt on the final green. That meant victory
01:16went to Rytan on 23 under par. The consolation for Njergjard-Petersen is that he's ended
01:25the season as the road to Mallorca number one. Capping a fine season in the process
01:33he jumped above the Englishman John Parry in the season standings. For the two Scots
01:39Ewan Walker and Daniel Young, they both signed off with good rounds to end the season. However,
01:48Walker for the third year running agonisingly missed out on a step up to the DP World Tour
01:56and Young on his first appearance in this event also failed to make that top 22. However
02:03in both cases they can be proud of themselves this week. They played some good golf. It's
02:09a pressure packed week. They didn't disgrace themselves by any manner of means. Neither
02:15of the two are going to the final stage of the DP World Tour school in mainland Spain
02:20next week. They'll go away, they'll regroup and be back on the Challenge Tour in 2025.
